This is a thread for the good AND the bad. If you have something good post it up, but if you have something that you KNOW doesn't work the way you want it to... post that up, too. And talk about why it's not meeting expectations. FD- that means you, amongst others I'm sure.

Absolutely Sum. That's why "Customer Reviews" and places like Yelp are so freaking awesome.

This is by far, hands down, no doubt about it, for sure, one of my favorite kitchen tools.

My Mandolin slicer. Borner, made in Germany, $45.
I use it almost everyday for vegetables only.
Diced potatoes, use the lager knife insert, then use a chefs knife to dice the 'french fries'
shredded carrotts, Brocolli stems for soup, etc, use the smaller knife insert.
Two thickness slices with a reversable insert.

I got it for Christmas 4 Christmaseseses ago, and it has never needed sharpening.

That Mandolin is really nice. I've only used one once. A friend brought it over to a small fish smoking party where I was teaching the host how to use his smoker for the first time. (These were all co-workers at the time.) Made making homemade potato chips a breeze.
