Good to see the produce rolling in

I surely know about all the effort involved in planting a full spectrum garden; we attempt to grow for a year, I know most varieties of produce won't keep that long. But you know what I mean

It has certainly been a different year for many of us. It seems here in the US that the Northern growers are doing the best this season.

No problem, Adam. This is just from my experience (past 3 years) so these are not facts or anything

Have been observing and sharing info with friends of mine and it's gives a lot of insight.

Not a stupid question at all, the PJ stands for ProJect. It's just something I came up with to label the crosses while growing them out. Also makes it less interesting for people at this point cause it's just being grown out. I've noticed that when people see the parentage of an cross they can go crazy just because of the parents. Doesn't mean it will turn into something interesting. The tomatoes are regular red inside but very tasteful. So there's a good chance I will be growing these again next year

Melons are... difficult for me cause they got mites now. I keep the poly low humid because of the tomatoes so the melons and cukes get mites easily each time

Gonna try and grow them outside next year... really hate mites.

Guess your right, Scott but I need to stick more to the stuff thats easier to grow anyway. I always let myself carry away by growing exotic stuff that exactly not suited for our climate hehe

MFPJ37 F-1 another bbg cross I made last year, these set a lot better then their mother did

MFPJ30 F-2 #2 was a bit disappointed when these turned yellow. Had high hopes for white.

Stefan some really beautiful weird shapes going on ... pleased for you that the pods are starting to colour up ... selfishly I will be following the J27 F2 it's got the bonnet shape .. always a pleasure to visit your glog

It really sucks that you had such extreme weather this season Stefan, but the stuff you pictured looks great, so it's not a total bust. It's funny how the least uniform Tomatoes are the ones that taste the best. Drive on!

Thanks for the info. I'll take notes on the labeling. Yeah, us Chilehead's tend to get overly excited over crosses. I've been searching crosses from Jukka, as well as Neil. I get excited, when I see something in the f5 and up category. I still enjoy all the crosses. They are among my favorites.

I really like the profile of the 43. Really smooth looking and has that bottle cap calyx. Hope it keeps the traits in F2.

I can see a tinge of color changing on the 29's. This time next week should be complete.

Found another plant of that cross with an bonnet shape, John

Picture below. The other one has been making more pods but somehow they don't really get that big... no idea why but I just hope the pods have seeds so I can grow it out next year

So what was that weather about this week?! Had to put on my sweater, freaking cold and raining. Past 2 days have been better and more pods are turning.

It's been a challenge again but the peppers are doing the best yeah. They got the best spot in the garden hehe and I nurture them a lot to (maybe still to much). Tomatoes are coming in hard now, compared to other seasons not in weight cause I mostly have cherry's but picked close to 8lbs this week so I'm not complaining.

Thanks, Chuck. The MFPJ43 does look nice yeah but I'm hoping for other traits and colors in F-2 to be honest. The bottle cap calyx can stay though

Yesterday I sowed 10 seeds of it, will keep 4 plants to OW and see what they will produce. Don't wanna wait till next season. You were right on the MFPJ29's, today all the sudden they had a lot of color on them. Yellow :rolleyes:

hoped for something else, oh well. You could see the difference between the ones that were gonna start cause they went darker green.

MFPJ29 F2 color change over night, nothing yesterday and bam color!

MFPJ26 #1 F-2 this was my unstable cross that turned out 2 colors in F-1. This one is coming from smooth red pods, funny how F2 works. The yellow is no surprise though.

PI 441598 x BBG7 F-2 (thanks Jason) some plants have bbg calyx and some dont. The ones with bbg calyx look like this so far and are going orange.

BBG7 White F-2 going true, small first pod. Got a few bigger ones.

MFPJ9 #2 F-2

MFPJ37 F-1 these are going yellow which I did not expect as one of the parents was red but both were unstable F-2 x F-1 so..

Yeah it's time to start thinking about what to do this winter. I'm planning on trying to use the poly again with veggies like I did last season. Worked out pretty good and we got to eat from the garden during winter. Also still got a lot of work I still wanna (need) to do... oh well we'll see how it goes

For now I'm just starting to harvest the first peppers

I can try, Rick but I'm not the best in describing flavors to be honest :shh:

Next round of peppers I will give it an try. I do write it down for myself to keep track of the differences among phenotypes in an cross.

Got the 3 new Numex Spice varieties growing and they are starting to ripe of. Pods aren't the biggest but I love the colors.

Just wow!

You're in overdrive now, lots of ripe pods and color. Isn't success grand?
