I am planting via 2 methods, coffee filter and direct sow. I want to eventually plant out 1 of each variety so I sowed 3 seeds. I soaked my seeds last night in water and planted 1 in a tray of Hoffman’s Seed Starter (thanks Ronnie),
fe6e7491.jpg

and the other two I stuck in coffee filters and plastic bags. So EVERYONE is aware, this method is not a quick one. Consider yourself warned.

When I finished planting/bagging everything, I stuck it in my tent which maintains about 81-84 and we shall keep our fingers crossed.

Now it is time to PWN some 12 year olds in MW3. Peace!

Everything looks awesome Matt the tea is doing great work for you. Have you moved all your porch plants permanently or is on and off. Hopefully you get home to gold mine of pods forming and some superhot ripe pods.

Thanks for the link, Matt. I bookmarked the site so I can check it out later. Once again, you are the trend setter!

Pendleton is pretty close to where I live. It's going to be pretty warm out here. If you ever have free time while you're out, let me know, we could go grab a beer.

Thanks for stoppin in. Yes I permanently moved everything out back for good. It is funny, I said that I was gonna wait for a week of sun, got impatient and moved everything out. The next day we got hit with the storm. But Honestly, there are only a few plants that aren't doin too well, and they have been kinda bitchy since potting up. I am seeing a ton of flowers and a bunch of green in those flowers. So hopefully you are right and I can come home and get a nice little starter harvest! :hot:

No problem. I am sure you will get a ton of use out of it!

I will let you know if I get time away. Thanks for the offer and I will let you know!

Like I mentioned above, I walked through the garden tonight and saw a bunch of green inside flowers. I DID notice a Choc Bhut was starting. I will make sure to take some photos and do a video update this weekend before I head out of town. I was pretty worried about watering when I am gone, but I checked the weather and it is supposed to rain at least 2 times a week. I think I am gonna try to set the dripline for maybe 2 times a week (like Monday and Thursday) and have the wife check on Wednesday and Sunday. I will probably have her walk through and anything questionable she will take photos and send them. Maybe I can have her take some pod pron...:)

I will have a nice little Biker Billy harvest this weekend to make room for new pods! STBY for a review.

MTF in the next few days.

Safe travels, bro. If your wife posts some pod porn, she
will be a real winner in my eyes! We'll, I'm sure she is
anyway, but that would be way cool!

Ok, so your wife is going to take pictures, send them to you, AND care for a newborn? Dude. I hate to break this to you. She might be an alien. Maybe the last daughter of Krypton?

Going to be potting up today/tomorrow with the nutes you sent. I think  these are the last plants of the season getting new shoes. Also, I am going to be trying out some of those fabric pots. You using any? I can't remember. Wanted to get your thoughts on them if so.

I have the smart pots (6 of them). 5 are 5 gal and 1 is a 7 gal. If I had the money (or would have not bought a 70 dollar bottle of Jameson) I would have a WHOLE LOT MORE! I really, really like them. I would go as far as saying I love them, but it is only a month or so into the outdoor season. One HUGE benefit is the fact that they can dry out faster after a heavy rain, also, the roots are supposed to grow outward instead of circular. As a testament, my Red Brain (which was the first to pod) is in a smart pot, and my Choc Bhut (which as of 2 days ago has a pod) was the second super to do it.

I will probably replace all my nursery containers next time around.

It can be a PITA come the really hot summer, but I will take watering a day earlier than usual for the other bennies.

Looking forward to seeing how you like them.

Wow Matt, been a bit since I checked out your glog.

1. I like the engraving on that bad boy, really suits you :)
2. If zombies attack looks like you'll be fine just make sure to carry a few extra mags (would suck to miss and run out of bullets :))
3. I have read a lot about worm tea and watching all these glogs it appears I should start doing the same thing, afterall PG got a 6 year mother by doing things the way he has. Question, does this replace the "tomato bloom" and other types of food? What of fish fert when using worm tea?
4. Mycos seems to be another thing people are using, is that a substitute for something else?

Anyways, the plants are looking great either way. Hope when you return you get some nice pods.
;cheers:
Aaron

looking ok...those spots look like bad news and all those slugs???? woah

^~~~that my friend is gladly something I haven't had to say to you yet.....thankfully
Hope all stays sunny and productive. Will be sending you a special one I am trying to create if it comes out nice.

Good to know, Matt. I'll be trying out 10 7-gallon root pouches this
summer at the next plant out, so we will be able to compare notes.
Can't afford to replace all my containers, but if these work well, I
will try to add a few each season. I'm thinking the soft pots need
to be emptied and refilled each year? I don't know why I think that.

Hey Aaron, thanks for stopping by.

1. Thanks. On my last deployment we did a "Group Buy" from Kimber and got a discounted price since about 45 of us bought the gun. The logo is the Marine Raiders logo (it is heritage from my unit) and then it has the unit name and logo on the slide. Also, they have limited run S/N (1-45). Here are a few better snaps.

We plan on doing it again this next go around. Since I already have the Kimber, I am pushing to get the H&K USP 40. I know that a lot of the new guys coming out with us haven't got a chance to buy the Kimber, so they may fight me on this one...

2. I don't miss.

3/4. Here are a few vids I did last week (or the week before...) on the subject.
http://youtu.be/zOWXypF3Lxs

You can still use another fertilizer, but I think a feeding of fish ferts (something like Neptunes Harvest or Alaska Fish Food) in between Tea uses would be the best bet. I have been following a lot of PG's methods and he does a Tea feeding and then hits it up with some fish fert (homemade). Also, the mycorrhizae is a fungi boost to your roots and soil food web. It is best applied directly to the roots, however, there are some water soluble versions that can be used in a good soil drench (like I did). Next season I plan on using it in all my pot ups, but I came late to the game on this one.

Matt, the plants and the collages look great! Keep up the great work.

Thanks. It took me long enough to find out how to do the collages, I am happy they turned out.

Above and beyond once again !!!

LOL! just trying to keep up with all the great growers on here!

Thanks! I am glad I ran into all the great threads like Pepperguru's to help me turn the season around.

So I am headin out Monday morning early, so I wanted to get one last update goin before I pull chalks and go. I am really hoping that I come home to a nice harvestworthy garden. When I was out there today doin lawn and garden work I noticed a bunch of new pods starting to set. It is crazy how once one starts to set, the others are all poppin up out of nowhere! One thing that I wanted to mention is about the airpots. I had to move the pots today to mow, and I noticed that the roots were growing out of the bottom of the pot into the ground. It is pretty crazy that in 30 days they went from a 2.5" container to growing through the bottom of a 7 gallon pot! So to avoid that I but some wood on the ground and then put the pots on top of that. Hopefully that helps. Anyways, here is some PORN for you silly bastads!

Here are the potted rows
322c510a.jpg

Out of everything in pots, there are about 4 or 5 that really haven't moved much since pot up. I have considered tossin them, but whatever, they aint hurtin nobody.

And lastly, I finally got around to installing the dripline on the containers. I have a 4 day option on my timer, so I am gonna set it for 15 mins so at least they will get a drink if we don't get any rain.
7eedb733.jpg

I have a video uploadin now, so it should be ready in a few hours. Also, I am gonna try one of the Biker Billys and then using the rest for some bad ash poppers. I wanna make room on the plant for another 20 days of pods and growth, so I GUESS I will take one for the team and eat some tasty Jals....

Anyways, thanks for looking, Ill post the video a little later and be in and out all weekend. Keepin my fingers crossed I can get a cell signal out in Cali so I can at least check in while I am gone.

Peas.
