Mill's 2013

Well I managed to totally ignore my grow this past year. Had some great harvest of some great types but didn't have a lot of time to get pictures up and stuff like that. 2013 will probably be more of the same with a daughter due at the end of Feb but I will try and keep it updated.

Pics to close out '12 and ring in '13...

Sprouting some Reapers I won in a giveaway.

Baby C. Lanceolatum(lets try this one more time...).

How tiny it actually is, 2oz solo cup, Reaper behind.

Those two are in a cabinet I built a few years back with 4-23watt cfls and reflective insulation lining the sides. It also houses an overwintering C. Rhomboideum which has seen better days.

Here are the lights.

That is one of two cabinets I have going, the other has in it a Wild Texas Tepin and one 65watt cfl in a reflector. This one is going to become a bonchi for my wife's desk at work.

Other than that its finally slowing down around here before classes start back up in early Jan so I have time to prep the rest of the overwinters.

Killer list of wilds you got going on there Noah... Can't wait to see some of them, with their true set of leafs...

I would not have the patience to start up the way you do. Glad to see your lance is doing well. 40 days in and no ciliatum, lance,or tovarii are up for me. I planted my remaining stock of those three last night.

I like knowing exactly how many seeds sprout and only put one per pot. Otherwise I have dozens of empty cups that I keep hoping will sprout something...

You have some nice varieties going MWM. Looks and sounds like the story of the Lance is Wooten following. Here's to a good grow,

RM

What's Wooten? Confused... Thanks though!!

that's the best germ method right there. Looking good, mill :)

I like doing it like this so I can see exactly when they pop out of the shell as well as know exactly how many I pots I need. I hate doing seed starting cells and not having some germ then toss the mix into the compost bin only to have them pop later... Or, like I normally do, put two or more per cell and have all pop in some and non in others.

Great. Ice storm moving its way here tonight. Supposed to have over a half an inch of solid ice covering everything and they say plan for the power to be out for up to 3 days. Saweet. Heres to seeds staying warm. :drunk:

I love the idea on the starter cups with lids, I use similar to sample off my sauce to friends when I only have small batches. Nice pics and good luck without power, hope you have a generator ... doesn't sound like fun :/ Dat only happens here after hurricanes but we don't have the cold issues and we cook with natural gas.

Now thats being organized with the germination cups....nice.
Theres noway to spill the seeds on the ground.

Looks like you are going to be spending the next three days with your germination cups stuffed in your crotch Millie! Then again, that wouldn't be a first would it. . . . . . . .would it?

Bah. At the in-law. They have gas heat and I've got all the seeds over here hoping they can survive the travels. Here's to hoping...

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

Looks like things are well on their way. That lanceolatum is indeed a furry little thing. Looks like it is going to keep growing, though! Nice.
