Now, about my setup...
Since I have two jobs nowdays (lack of time) and I currently have a lack of space in my house, I've decided to improvize and try to keep thinga as simple as it gets, and with low budget costs.

For germination I used jiffy coco pellets soaked in chamomile tea. They are in the plastic box on my wifi router with a nice amount of heat and moisture. Temp inside is 26 ºC (78.8 ºF).
First to emerge from the pellets where west indies red, bhut jolokia red and aji habanero, on the sixt day.

Germination went great - I'm only waiting for giant white habs and red savina to come out, all of the others are already transfered to plastic cups, and put under the 32w (150w) Phillips Tornado bulbs (cool white, 6500k).

Weather in Zagreb is getting better, snow is melting, sun is coming out, so I put my plants on the table to soak up the sun in the midllde of the day, and in the afternoon I put them back in the setup box under the bulb. The box is covered all around with aluminium foil to reflect the light.

So far so good

The first two peppers that came out (west indies and bhut jolokia), are also the fastest growers - they are 20 days old and hacve formed 3 pairs of true liefs. The other are mostly growing fine as well.

When they get bigger and the weather stabilizes, I will put them in bigger pots and transfer them to my parents farm, where they will enjoy plenty of sun and fresh air

I've taken a lot of pics of my setups, I will upload them for you to see. This is what I have for now:

Beautiful plants and dog. Sorry for not reponsing, but I normally try to avoid anywhere near 100 degrees for my plants due to that I don't have an automatic watering system or that it has the possibility of causing sterilization of the pollen and causing flowers to drop this year I am going to try to keep a fan goingduring the summer to keep temp down. http://www.spokane-c...ms Fail 05.pdf

Thanks for your response :)

I've read that high temp can causu flower dropping, so as soon as the plants are opening flowers I will move them away.

Those in grenhose are having buds, no open flowers yet, so I think they are ok.
Anyway, the greenhouse cover is heavily perforated, due to that air circulation is ok.
When I open the greenhouse, temps are only few deegres down, so it doesn't help much.

The only reason I use the greenhouse now is to prevent pollution from smog and dust (i live in a city, near a heavy road traffic). Without that I wouldn't need a greenhose in this time of year, temps and the weather are good enough.
It's only for a few plants, like i said, I will not grow most of them in the city.

New pics :)

This one had some leaf problem, so took almoust all of them out. Left only two, and now it's recovering nicely.

Weather here is ginna make me crazy!

I have about 20 plants outside for a while now, and we are having a cold weather, 40 F in the morning :(
A lot of them is budding for a month now, I hope the buds will survive. Today max temp will be 54 F.

Is there a danger that developing pods on my Aji Habanero could fall of on these temps?

Man our weather is the same right only. only slightly colder. I have a total of 17 plants that are now back inside and sitting in my babies room. Really annoying stuff man. hoping for a turn around by the weekend.

Yes, we share weather difficulties :(

I have to risk, because I'm not at home, plants will stay out. Hoping for the best.

We should get a couple of sunny days from tomorrow, but next week brings another cold front :(
The good thing is - there is no frost danger here in Zagreb :)

It seems that most of my plants will survive, near frost temps are gone :)
As I was looking into plants this weekend I tek a few more pics

Bad news.

Hail....

All of my plants that were planted in the ground are ruined :(

I have about 20 plants in the pots that are safe, but this season just took the wrong turn...

OUCH! Sorry to hear that. If you got some seeds in a hurry do you think you'd have time to start over? It's probably too late in the season for Chinense, Pubicens and Baccatums but you could still probably get a crop of Annuums in. PM me your address again and I'll get some in the mail.

Thanks for your kind offer, but no need. This 20 plants will do for now. And maybe some of the plants recover.

In the moment of panic, when my father called me and told me about the hail, I completely forgot I have another 20 plants that I started few weeks ago.

It isn't what I was hoping for, but will do. :)

Sorry to hear about the hail. Did the plants lose all their leaves?
You will be surprised how they might come back if there are
intact nodes on the stems; even leaves full of holes will continue to function.
Their root systems should be well established enough to bounce back.
Good luck, man, your grow is looking really good other than this little setback.

There are some leaves left, some of them should recover. They are not nearly big as those in the pots that you see on pics (they are 3-5 inches big), but some of them should recover. Will just have to wait and see.

Thanks for stopping here guys :)

Ah shame! Hope some will pull threw! we seem to have some awesome weather for the next ten days so i hope its good down your way too! And sounds to me like you will still have plenty of plants to play with :)

Yes, I have more plants, but I hate to loose any of the plants :)

Nice weather coming my way also, from saturday 21 to 25 C max , 10 C min at night :)
I hope it does wonder for my plants :)

Thanks for stopping by, good luck with your growth :)

Pepper-Guru, I saw your blog, you really are a pepper guru, so I don't doubt your words will come through :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Didn't update for two weeks, there is some progress going on.

This is my best looking plant, Aji Habanero, big and loaded with pods, flowers and buds :)

Plants that were hit by hail are recovering nicely, but I have a problem with my chinense peppers, most of them seem to be stunted, they are not growing for a few weeks now. Will put some more pic later :)

Are you still having cool temperatures? Every time the overnight low temperatures get up around 12 degrees C the Chinense plants grow a little more, but when it gets cooler they just stop growing. Cheers
