pics Mustard King Naga !! Unexpected !!

Hi Guy's

I'm now pretty certain the sole Black king Naga plant I kept is infact a Mustard king Naga 😊 😎

And I must say I'm delighted  as its completely unexpected ðŸĪŠ It did say that my Black king Naga seeds could well produce red pod's but I never expected "mustard"

3 pod's have ripened from lighter green to this and stopped now well over a week ! There's still loads of pod's on the plant yet to ripen.......my fault.....I moved it from soil to kratky a bit too late and it went mental growing more branches and leaves and flower's.....lesson learnt start your kratky set up earlier  hey every days a school day ! the day you stop learning is the day they nail down the lid 😉

3 plump Mustard king Naga............the colour is growing on me by the minute 😁 I think I shall be saving alot of seeds, interesting to see how they taste and the heat level ðŸĪ”

Hi Guy's

It's 2024 time for Mustard Naga the next generation 😎

I've germinated a few seeds from the above mustard Naga pod I've one in soil which I'm giving to a friend to grow on in there greenhouse  should be interesting.........to see what it grows.

I have kept one for myself in a mini kratky hydroponics set up it growing like a weed

The mother plant from 2023 the seed of which I bought as Black Naga.............also vigorous and productive

If there are any UK chilli growers lurking on the forum who want a few seeds to play with drop me a pm, a stamped addressed envelope and your welcome to some free of charge all i ask is a photos of what they produce.

Hi Guy's

My mini kratky Mustard Naga is starting to bud 😁

Hopefully I shall find out soon it its a cross or mutation ?

Considering I haven't given this plant as much light as it really needs to flower fast its doing not too bad. Lessons learned I will Hopefully use in the near future to force fruiting on some varieties I'm playing with also try out other varieties to see if like the flavour before committing to the space for a big plant.........

Holy smokes that things is going gangbusters!

Prolific indeed!

I hope you grew several plants, because chances are you won't be able to say for sure whether this is due to crossbreeding, an unstable variety, or a random mutation...

Hi Guy's

Update on my wee mini Kratky Mustard Naga........dam thing has been producing flowers by the ton !

However I've had a real issue with flower drop ! ðŸĪ” If been misting it and got a load of shallow trays on the floor of the greenhouse to try and get the humidity up ........

Well finally getting pod's

Now I just have to wait and see if they cone out mustard or not ?? The suspense is killing me ðŸĪŠ

Finally pod's 😁 oh and if you look carefully a big ole spider on green fly patrol

Actually not a spider but "harvestman". Not sure if they are harmless to your plants...

Wow, they were budding without losing petals?! I was looking for buds cause you said, they are budding but all of those have petals... Then I noticed. I think that's a first or I was just not giving that too much attention because in my head they suppose to fall off after polination.

Are you still here? Can we see some later pics!? :fire:

aka Daddy longlegs (at least here in the States)

Good for your plants.

"Harvestmen, which look a lot like spiders, are also predators – of slugs, snails, woodlice, millipedes, centipedes and spiders."

Hi Guy's

I was thinking about updating this post only the other day so no time like the present !

2024 proved to be a poor year, weather was rubbish low light cool temperatures on the whole everything was way way behind.

I kept two plants from the seeds I saved one in mini kratky hydroponics and another in 10 litre pot of soil ..............

Long story short .........both did extremely poorly this year lots of flowers some tiny pod's and lots of leaves !

Finally got a few better pod's but very disappointing in size and phenotype here's a photo taken today of probably the best of the worst !
