My hobeneros

Hi. I have started trying to grow hobeneros in Virginia. I planted these in mid July. Here are some pictures. I have a few questions. one, when will they start to produce peppers, and two, how can i make them healthier. also, are they the right size considering they are 3 months old?

Mine are about two months old and significantly bushier. It's hard to tell the height, but from the looks of it mine are taller as well. Are they getting enough light?
 
im trying to get them as much as possible, they are about 4 to 5 inches tall. would lamp light work because when the sun goes down i start to shine my lamp on them.
 
not to mention you should really have one per pot so they dont fight for nutes and root space! like Nick said, how much light do they get?
 
Is that 7 to 8 hours direct sunlight outdoors or grow lamps? If it's grow lamps what type, wattage, etc. They just look really similar to one of my red habs that I had in the front for a few weeks where it was not getting enough light.
