im glad my pepper plants are in pots and i can move them in an out of the rain or sun, or hail storms.   my vegetable garden how ever is not doing so well. even though i have a fenced in backyard there is 2 neighborhood cats getting into my yard and using my raised beds as their personal liter box. my tomatoes are dying, as well as the beans, carrots and a few others.   never thought being out in the country id have to worry about cats in my garden, why must people get animals and keep them outside? there is fox and coyotes and wolfs out here, the fox will eat a cat or small dog, is that what they want? grrrrrr makes me mad. dont know how to get rid of them with out killing them

Amazing how slow the reaper is.  Feels like it is just crawling along compared to my other plants.
yes i feel the same way, but my reapers are only 2 months old and so is that thai chili. as for the rest they are all 6 months old or older.   wish they would hurry up and grow lol.

its a sad sad day. i drove into town to get a few things and on the way back i swear it was october, its cold, rainy and the trees are starting to turn colours all ready. so sad.  but the thing that really got me is while i was gone the wind had picked up, and it was strong as hell. i lost a ghost pepper plant and lost 200 pods that had just started, and another 150 flowers starting to open and a bunch more buds growing out. i managed to save 45 pods. not sure if they are ready or if they will ripen. im so pissed off really. not one other plant was effected by the wind except this one, and the wind had snapped every single branch off at the base of the plant. i will post some pictures when i can take some

Ouch :( Wish there was a "Dislike" button. Hope the pods make it!

I know it's little consolation, but we here at THP feel your pain. Seeing those big, healthy plants (especially that bhut - beautiful specimen!) all beat up by the wind is heartbreaking. I just discovered your glog and was really impressed by what I saw earlier on this page, then WHAM. A setback that big really hurts when you live up north.
Do you plan on overwintering? If there is one bright side to all this environmental ass-kicking your plants have (for the most part) endured, it's that the survivors will be damn near indestructible now that they can channel all that fruiting energy into vegetative growth.
I hope you get a nice, long indian summer. You deserve it, man.

thanks dash, i do plan on over wintering the remaining ghost and the 2 carolina reapers.  i am hoping the one ghost i have left is able to survive another month or two. the way it seems though we might be going into fall soon. it is unseasonably cold and even the trees are starting to turn colours and drop their leaves.  august up here is usually the stormy month but its also usually up in the high 80's to high 90's  but we are sitting around 40 to 50 at night and 50 to 60 during the day the last week and a bit.

havent done an update in a while, ive been pre-occupied with everything else going on in my life. but here is a quick update.

all my plants are doing well, ive pulled almost 5 pounds of pods off the plants so far.  today we have extreme high winds and ive lost a branch off of my ghost pepper plant, and almost lost my carolina reaper plants. i am sick of this weird ass weather we have been getting this year. i feel sorry for everybody in galgary alberta, 35 cm (almost 14 inches) of snow the last three days, and massive destruction, power outages and accidents.   anyway here are some pictures of my pods, ill add some pictures of my plants once the wind and rain die down
