My tomato list

This is my final list of what is actually in the garden and growing -

Black Krim
Carbon (x2)
Pantano Romanesco (x2)
Cour Di Bue (x2)
Vorlon (x2)
Black Cherry (x2)
Sungold (x2)
Yellow Pear
Grace Lahman
Monomakh’s Hat
Brave General
Cowlick Brandywine
Pink Ponderosa
Purple Russian
Dr Wyche’s
Golden Sunray
Malakhitovaya Shkatulka (we just call it green malakite)
Golden King of Siberia
Green Zebra
Cosmonaut Volkov

Everything seems to be growing fairly well, even the Dr Wyche's which was just a stem when I planted it (all the leaves had fallen off, and only 2 of the 6 I started germinated). My sister had problems with this one last year too, I don't know if this is just a difficult tomato to grow or what.

I also just built most of my CRW cages, and they are looking great. Can't believe I have been using standard tomato cages for these OP varieties in the past.

The only ones in my list that I have grown in the past are Yellow Pear, Green Malakite, and Grace Lahman, so lots of new things to eat this year :) I will post a few pictures next week after the holiday.

Yeah, the tomato itself looks beautiful, can't wait to try it.

Indeterminate. I have a few fruit on them already, can't wait until I can take some pictures of my own ripe fruit :) One of two potato leaf plants in my garden, the other being a brandywine.

Actually all of my plants have fruit now, with the Golden King of Siberia leading the way in size and production. I will post a few pictures after I take some new ones for my blog tomorrow, things are looking really good.

My garden is doing very well this year. I am thrilled with my tomato plants, I just wish I had more room for some more plants :)

I am at the point where I am going to stop counting the fruit that are on the plants and just count the fruit that come off. I have well over 200 tomatoes on my plants now with more on the way.

This first picture is from my Carbon Tomato that was a megabloom. It is very ugly, but I can't wait to see how big it will get, and once it starts to darken I think it will be a very pretty piece of fruit.

This next one is from my Purple Russian plant, which is a roma shaped tomato. If you notice the one in the upper left was also a megabloom, so the shape on the tomato is quite a bit different.

This next one is my biggest tomato so far, as well as the most productive plant. It is the Golden King of Siberia, and this one seems pretty close to a pound already. My hands are a pretty decent size, and I threw a quarter in there for reference. Reading reviews on this plant it is said that it may not be the tastiest tomato out there but they are very productive.

This is my Green Malakite plant. It is the king of the garden right now and over 5 feet tall. Over 20 fruit on this plant and looking forward to slicing it up for some grilled cheese or BLT's.

This is from my Sungold Select II plant, and I mistakenly thought earlier in the week that it was my Black Cherry plant.

The next 3 are Brave General, Cosmonaut Volkov, and then Monomahk's Hat (I am not sure which is which on the first two).

The last tomato here is from my Cour Di Bue plant, an italian oxheart. A very pretty tomato, I cannot wait to bite into one of these.

Today's harvest with a lot more on the way. In the back we have a Golden King on the left and a Monomahk's Hat on the right. In the middle is a Cour Di Bue, then in the front two corners we have a Cosmonaut Volkov and a Green Malakite. The cherry sized ones are yellow pear, and two Sungold tomatoes.

A closeup of the two Sungold tomatoes. I am a little skeptical that these are the same tomato. The larger one is planted in the ground, while the smaller one is in a pot. Both are started from the same seed packet, and it is Sungold Select II.

This next two are the Golden King and the Cosmonaut Volkov that I sliced up and ate for lunch yesterday while camping.

I am so jealous! Between a horrendous spring of flooding, a late July-early August drought, a whitefly infestation from hell and a groundhog that must have gained 20 pounds eating my tomatoes and broccoli, this is the worst year for my garden in the last 10 years. At least the peppers that lived through June are doing fine.

Hey, awesome plants you got there. I havent been on the other vegetables threads yet. I love tomatoes too. My girlfriend.......Not so much. I slice em and eat em with salt and pepper and sometimes with other seasonings by themselves. Anybody on here have tomato seeds up for trade? Theres a lot I have never heard of.

That superbloom looks cool. Do they taste different than others?

Sorry for the late reply, but no, they do not taste any different. I will post a few more pics later today after I upload them (that carbon megabloom was fantastic :)).

Nice work. I love weird Tomatoes. My favorites are Tula Blacks, Hillybilly Potatoleaf and Mr Stripeys. They're far better than typical red water baloons

Ive got to get my hands on some interesting toms. I just dont like them but havent tried many of the non mainstream varieties out there.
