Great review, you nailed the description perfectly. I tried Tongue Wrapper for the first time tonight.
I had it on some chicken. I poured it over a bite & then went for it. Just like you describe, you get a quick flash of blueberry, and then carrot. My wife, who only eats extra mild asked, "Is it hot?" I said, "Not really, I expected hotter." But then just as soon as I finished saying that, the Naga kicked in. Wow! After pouring it on a few more bites, my eyes were actually starting to water & the sniffles came. A good lingering burn too.
That's some hot stuff. (Take into consideration that I don't eat the insane extract sauces, so Melinda's Naga is still hot to me.) What an amazing sauce, the blueberry is just enough to make it different & interesting while not overpowering. The naga provides a great heat, and it's one of the hotter non-extract sauces I've tried so far. Then couple that with the incredible homemade taste it has, and it easily surpasses the mass produced sauces.
My wife makes homemade cookies, and everyone looks forward to when she makes them. The difference between her cookies & the preservativey taste of something like Toll-House cookies is monstrous! I say this because Justaguy's sauces are the same way when compared to Blair's, Melinda's etc. The fresh taste & homemade touch is just miles away better than bottled sauces you buy at the grocery store.
