naga's and sevina's

its strange,
i gave one of my bhuts to this lovely neighbour who is from india..
she has three almost ripe bhuts... i dont get it... i asked her about it and she didnt do anything special just kept it in the sun more then i did... i think thats where i went wrong... i kept moving them into the shade for the first month outdoors, trying to harden them off.. maybe its the lack of sun i dont know...

but yeah it seems like i am not alone after speaking with a few people here...lol, so i dont feel so bad about it now...some are finally starting to grow anyways, at least ill have some seeds for trade and season two..

i lived in the mountains about 40 km east of Rome in Italy, and one of my happier memories was picking a wide range of wild mushrooms with a couple of young guys from the village... we made a simple pasta dish with the wild sauteed muushrooms... it was fantastic.. a little parmasene cheese, some ripe tomatoes, figs, and a glass of red wine...

i wish i could pick some around here somewhere....the city, yuk !

You can check out the Toronto mycological society. They go to different places and identify and pick various edible mushrooms but most importatly they teach people how to determine the good ones from the poisonous/unedible ones.

I love picking wild mushrooms. I've being doing it since I started walking when my parents took me with them and I'm still looking forward to having them each year. The season should start soon over here and I can hardly wait.

The nearest forest. It was really that simple back then, not too many people were looking for shrooms back then. Nowadays I know a lot of them that my parents wouldn't pick, they only eat them if I bring them in. The big advantage of that is that I can pick a lot of mushrooms that everybody else wouldn't even touch! :)

I'm from Germany.

We'll have a few rainy days as it looks and then another sunny period - perfect for mushrooms. I'll go and look for some later this week or early next week (depending on my schedule and the weather).
