These little buggers have shown up on my Bell peppers & some of my Jalapeno plants in the past week. I have a tomato plant, Cayenne & Naga Jolokia nearby but they don't seem to be making any effort to go near any of those.
 
The seem to be a good bit smaller than the green Aphids that I had months ago which I killed off with soapy water. These are distinctly pinkish-red in colour and they don't have the bulbous butts that they Aphids had.
 
I've doused them the past couple days with soapy water, but I'm not sure it is phasing them. They are slow moving/reacting just as the Aphids were.
 
Any idea what they are & suggestion on how to kill them?
 
I'm doing my best to stay natural so I really don't want to touch pesticides (especially where it's indoors).
 
Aphids!  There are so many types of them.  The soapy water should be having an effect on them.  Since you are indoors, we can't recommend predator species.  But if you want you can use some pyrethrins on them.  It is all natural and organic.  Safe to use up until the day before you harvest.  Just keep pets and children away after you spray.
 
Neem oil is also another tried and true method of killing them.

.. Damn Aphids. I'm wondering if they were somehow in one of the bags of 4-in-1 soil I recently opened and used while transplanting most of these plants - that seems to be the only thing new I've introduced lately. Either way, annoying. Grrr
 
No children here and I've trained the cats that -do- get near either of my grow rooms to steer clear.. So I'm all-good on that front :)

*crosses fingers* .. it is a tiny bit neat that the brand name seems to be a play on the Marvel character. lol
 
your Walmart should carry Shultz, Houseplant & Indoor Garden Insect Spray. it is pyrethin based. $ 7.47 for 709ml spray container. you will find it in the seasonal section. if find it works well and always have a jug on hand. but you will have to continue using it all winter long.
 
i have never seen the pink variety of aphid. recently, Two years ago, i started getting a brown variety and of course the common light green.
