Neighbours with some sort of issue

Legal advice obtained.

Police notified.

CCTV it is.

With the proposed setup, I'll even be able to watch them in other places they wouldn't even know about so if they so much as give me the middle finger behind my fences, day or night, I'll know about it.

This is what happens when people have no damn respect for their neighbours and go out of their way to prove themselves morons.

Well folks, there we have it - smokemaster's comments goes to show why "pepper people are the best" !

That's the nicest thing I have ever received in a forum of any type, for any given hobby.

It's almost the polarmetric opposite to some of the, ahem, "various" things that have been said about the HP22B ... :fireball:

Thanks you smokemaster. I'm thrilled that my faith in humanity is being restored

The fan is for covert biological annoyance.
2 AM or so, blast about a teaspoon in the general direction.
Works best on a windless, damp night-----don't want to irritate other neighbors.

It sticks to things.

The idea of using TSM power is noted, especially given said neighbour leaves their kitchen window open pretty much all the time, i.e. even when they have left for the night.

But, that would be all the circumstantial evidence the neighbour needs to poke a finger squarely back at me and claim retaliation (no matter how badly I would love the effect) and all my efforts to build credibility with the police would be undone in an heart beat.

Speaking of police, when I was speaking with an officer this afternoon, I noticed what appeared to be capsicum spray on their belt. I should have asked for a taste :mouthonfire:

Update:

CCTV up and running.

24/7 setup with day time and night time (IR) viewing.

Two microphones at inconspicuous locations as well.

DVR with *long* recording time in use.

New lock on power box as well so no bugger can switch the system off when they please, and decent UPS about to be commissioned as well in case of outages.

Next comes the 300W halogen with high quality PIR sensor for both the front and back of the house ....

I'm taking no more crap from the neighbours - next time I will have the evidence ready for the police !

Hmm. Hope they finally keep off your lawn.

If they don't, here in violent America I have a different solution to your problems.

It's called railgun. Due to some stuff *falsecough*capacitors*falsecough* I'm getting for XMas, I could let you borrow mine.

And only 300w halogen bulb? Just dump pure halogen gas on 'em. At the very least, use this bulb light: http://www.wickedlasers.com/torch

Or Nikola Tesla's lightning fence: http://tesladownunder.com/Tesladownunder%20Car%20Theft%20Protection%201000_small.jpg. This guy's in Australia also.

And this is why you don't ask anyone who I know to guard the lawn.

BTW, the railgun should theoretically be able to fire capscaicin laced water balloons if you mix printer ink with it. Haven't tried that yet, but that was more due to school restrictions then anything. Just only use what I recommended when you're at home, otherwise you will run into legal issues. (going by American home defense laws here, unsure of your's)

Well it looks like you are ready, which is the best way to be now days, even if your neighbour behaves himself your protected from other low life people.  It sad that you have to  take to such messures to assure your peace of mind and property, but even living out of the city one can find people that just will not respect others and will cause all types of problems.
I'm just a old feller now, but my neighbours know that if there is any problems I will let them see the true light of day, no drugs, no drunken fights with me or anyone else, cause I will be very unhappy and will make you pay.  get rough with me and I can and will hurt you. Thats life, if you want to live in a rose garden you have to pull all the weeds out first, life is just that way.
Sorry that you had to spend hard earned money, to have a little peace of mind, taking some urban selfdefence lessons can be worth the trouble to learn, being ready can save not only your life but those you love.

Have the guy arrested/fined if you catch him on your lawn again. wildseed's right, you need self defense lessons.

all great advice, though theres another option.....move.

your sercuity cameras they most likely know where they are if they were home when installed, or big enough that you can see them outside anyways....unless you got little pencil size cameras that poke through your sidning/sofit and barely can see them.
either way if they know about them your neighbors might finally be all cool and leave you alone, or they do something and you catch them on video & press charges against them......if they want to get even with you then they can have someone else they know do something to you or your property, or now you need to worry about what could happen when you're out an about town to you/family or vehicle.

you already said they're scum/thrash & the landlord is too. what will change if they move out & someone else moves in ?......most likely some more scum since landlord is scum.

sometimes its just best to move to avoid certain people, no place is that special that you need to stay living there!
everyone comes up with excuses....blah,blah,this,that,blah,blah..... your house aint nothing special (theres more like them!) your location nothing special (other locations just as good or houses just as nice in same area) the money issue (well you're spending more money now cause of your neighbor where will it stop ? or to what point does it become violence & what is that dollar figure you'll put on that ? )

Yes, cameras can be seen - part of the plan !

There's this thing called circumstantial evidence and responsibility for people on your property - something happens to my property by someone else on the neighboues side, it's the tenants issue. Actually, its part of the residential tenancies act over here so there's no ifs and buts about it.

Move because of renters? Sorry, but all good things come to those who wait (and play by the rules). Also, move somewhere else and then the place next door sells to an investor and rents it out?! The argument of movng or not moving works both ways.

We recently had a MAJOR opportunity to have them put in the shit, but we opted to do them a favour and they damn well know about it.They very much know we could of had them but we personally did what we needed to do to offer the olive branch - after all, who likes negatitivity and disputes ?

There's been nothing of concern since then, but now I think they have pissed their other neighbour off. The saga continues.

With the improvements I've made, and as time goes by, this is becoming less of an issue because I know I have my bases covered. There's a certain amount of satisfaction in that if nothing else.

I don't ever recall mentioning violence. They are stupid, but not that stupid.
