NEW SNAKE!

IMG_0114.jpg

ball python

great for a starter snake
sometimes a little touchy about eating, many times they will refuse to eat and end up dying as a result, many times its internal parasites
they are relativly docile
not a snake man myself but nice just the same

thanks your friend Joe

Right on brochacho,

First one?

ajijoe, a lil background in reptiles no? For not being a snake man you know more than the average "joe" about ball pythons ;)

Good Vibes

Alex

Nice bro,

Caught the serpent cough too eh?, I believe its clinical, it may go dormant every now and again, but it sticks around forever. Connoisseur of colubrids my self,

wow is that yours that looks amazing do you breed? if so you should definatly breed that one

Yessah, thats the male, he carries the piebald gene. The female of that species (Mussurana) (Boiruna maculata) that I have is a normal, and shes jet black. The pied gene with these dudes is co-dominant, meaning that even though the female is not a carrier, when bred to the male, half the off spring will be pied and half will be black. Pied is a visual het with this particular species, these two are about a year from breeding size right now.

I saw you have two balls........lol every time, there's gotta be at least a dozen herp shirts I've seen with some kind of BP pun.

lol yeah 2 balls how much does a piebald gene co dom go for $ wise

You need one of these lovelies I can send you some. Notice how she opens a can of whoopazz on that useless fer de lance. ;)
would you really send me one or are you just joking i will take you up on the offer if you are for real...

My personal fave. Another viper eater but, unfortunately, un-tamable.

Pre coup(2001) it would have been possible to send you some muusurana.
There's a kid in Florida that breeds them. The common name is mussarana.
Unlike the Mica ( spilotes) they make a decant pet. Boa personality.

Nice, i had one of those when i was younger, had it for a while was fully grown i started out with a cornsnake, reptiles are awesome.

yeah you pic up a thing or two when you work for pet shops and have friends in the LEHIGH VALLEY HERP SOCIETY

i was actually a fish man

thanks your friend Joe

Nice lookin snake..
I had a couple Boa's in my younger days. I would like to get a couple more but I would have a hard time keeping them up with my schedule.
How's about some pics of your others?

I love me some reptiles, if I had the room for a rack system I would breed the hell out of some ball pythons. Boa's just get too large and take up too much space. There's sooo many new ball python morphs constantly coming out it's crazy

LOL yo ABG, thats the exact snake that I have pictured above bro, Boiruna maculata is Clelia occiptolutea, the taxonomic name with the species has changed oh, about a half a dozen or so times within the last 100 years. Thats righteous man, thats a mussa doing what they do best, taking down a Bothrops. Pound for pound they are the most powerful snakes I've ever worked with, like a king snake on PCP, no joke, hatchlings can wrap up a finger and make it blue. Your in the mecca of herps bro, most of the species that I work with you can with some effort, walk around out there and locate, two of my favs are the Drymarchon (Cribos) and Psuestes (Puffing bird snakes).

lol yeah 2 balls how much does a piebald gene co dom go for $ wise

Captive Bred pieds go for $750 right now and normals for about $300, John Michels, of Black Pearl Reptiles would be your best bet if this species truly interests you.

Ball pythons are very docile and seen to enjoy being handled. My fried had one growing up & he "wore" it around town frequently - never a stitch of aggressiveness.

I had a Colombian red-tail boa for a couple of years - one feeding dude caught the mouse kinda sloppily - by the tail. He whipped his body around like a loop around the tail and yanked his head back, pulling the mouse backwards through what amounted to a pinhole. The contents of said mouse (blood, internal organs, etc) came squishing out through its mouth.

I soon found another home for the columbian red-tail. That was just too morbid for me.

I do like snakes though - especially constrictors. They do a good service in the world.

That's a gorgeous ball python TD.

We have a relative here in NC. In fact, a 4 footer lives between us and our neighbors. He/she is very docile and incredibly beautiful with radiant yellow banding and deep shiny black scales. We make every effort not to disturb it as I want to see them chow down on the local copperheads.
