Hello from Perth .au

You in northern NZ? Surely it's still freezing on the south island..

Nope in Christchurch (South Island) Growing from seeds - so all plants are indoors (and loving it) at the moment.

They spend the day in the sunbaked conservatory on a black base - which warms the seed bed bottoms, and then at night they get taken inside.

Absolute swarm of Jalepenos bursting up through the seedling mix at the moment - and the rest are about a week behind in the germination process - so should be up soon.

Definitely soak your seeds (I soak mine for 24 hours) prior to planting.

Not sure on the Jalepenos, I bought two plants from a garden store 3 years ago, they produced a small banana shaped red fruit with a pretty mild kick. I saved about a hundred seeds and I have about 20 of these growing well now. I'll give the mature plants away to family & friends for Christmas.

Habaneros are both Red and White this year.

Also:
Thai Hot
Bulgarian Carrot
Rocoto Red
and Brazillian Cambucci's

Should be a fun year for growing.
