Sam, Paula doesn't have camping due to liability issues. Here's what I have for the best 3 options I can find-
Paula's place in Monroe-

7.5 acres, with an old slaughterhouse that's been converted to a wine bar/lounge. There is a farmer's market on site Sat & Sun from 11-5 in the front of the building. They could cordon off an area behind the building for the pepper party. It's a nice grassy area by the river. We supply all our own shade canopies, tables, etc. There is water available, inside restrooms and a big port-a-potty.
No overnight camping
$10 per person
Thunderbird RV Park-Thousand Trails, Monroe

A nice RV park with picnic cabanas-
$46 per night camping...BUT...we can have up to 10 people per campsite at no additional fee, they have 2 picnic cabanas free to use for campers with water and electricity (will confirm the electricity when reserving) and a large SS BBQ grill.
The Cabanas are also available to rent for the day for $54. That would include use of the BBQ grill.
Vasa Park Resort, Lake Samammish

This looks like a really nice resort for camping. $26/day camping for partial hook up. They said if we have 3-4 campsites, we can have the party at our campsites where there is water and electricity. Day Use Visitors $4.00 per person, no glass bottles, no pets with day visitors. (Don't worry Walt, If we go here, I have a way around the pet regulations...
)
What do y'all think? Anyone else looking at camping? I'll send a PM to the east-side people to get some input.
If no-one else is camping, then the Thousand Trails picnic cabanas seems like a good deal. I kinda got the feeling from Paula that we would be somewhat time restricted, they'd want us finished by ~6:00 or so. Either of the places with camping would allow us to hang out 'til whenever...

Any of those places would be fine with me. I would not be camping unless it was held 4 or 5 hours away.

There's a park in Sultan, but it's probably a state park. Another possibility might be Wolfpack - privately owned, but I don't know if he offers his property for events.

Thanks for the PM, I am going to try to make it. It would be great to get to know more chili heads like myself being new and all. I will keep looking here for more details so I can get the time off. Is there anything I will need to bring/know before hand? Look forward to seeing you all.

Hey hh81, welcome to the fray! At this time assume a pot luck type of get together, and if you have anything you (or spouse?) like to make for such , spicy or not, bring it! As we get closer to this, we will figure out who brings what and all that.....

The Venue is set!
I reserved 3 campsites at VASA RV Resort. Our family will be staying in one site Fri-Sat with the tent trailer. The other 2 are open for camping or just to use for the party. If we need more spaces, they aren't booked too full that weekend and I've let them know there will be an afternoon picnic and maybe some additional campers.
Looks like we are set for -
Saturday September 10th, show up whenever, eating time TBD

For those who wish to camp-
There are 2 sites reserved, you can contact me if you want to stay on one of the reserved sites and then either put it in your name throught the Vasa office, or just pay us on that weekend. Or you can contact the park and get another camp site. Camping with partial hook-ups (water/elec) is $26/night.
There is a day visitor fee of $4.00 per person, no glass bottles, no pets. Walt, here's the idea for you. We can put one of the campsites in your name, then you could have the puppy there without hassles. Or just smuggle him in.

And also equipment.
Walt mentioned a canopy, table, and something else??? (Sorry, brain fade right now~) Does someone want to take care of paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils in lieu of a dish?
Everyone should plan on bringing their own lawn chairs and beverages. Beyond that, let's see what shakes out.
