I follow the rule that hot pepper power or hot sauce can go on anything that is sweet, sour, salty, or just plain needs to be over powered as the flavor is bad, I learned this in the navy, " if kechup doesn't help use plenty of hot sauce".
Hot pepper powder goes good with peanuts or peanutbutter, goes great with Chutney or berry Jams, tropical smoothies, fried green mangos, dried fish or squid or dishes using them. Using chili powder and chocolate goes back to the time of the Mayan culture, they would make a drink that only royalty could have, kind of a spicy chocolate drink, depending on how hot you liked it.
I use to make some killer Brownies that were made with lots of dark chocolate sysurp and salty peanuts and a good dose of dried and smoked chiltepin pods that I crushed and sprinkeld in the mix.
I will leave out the pot that usually found its way in,
but it was gooey sweet and very rich chocolate and salty peanutty flavor and the crushed smoked peppers just added that much more depth to the flavor, you could sit down and eat a whole pan of the stuff .
Oh yes try a pinch in your morning coffee
