I'm planning on doing the same thing with a Rainbow, Chinese 5 color and Aji Omnichiltepin said:Anyone know how Bolivian Rainbows taste? I am growing one for the first time this year. Mainly to bonchi the plant.

It has not the best taste, sharp and a bit dull. However, the powder is quite useable.
I too like the fish pepper, the pods are green with yellow stripes and then ripen to orange and finally red. The leaves look cool in the garden although to much white can hamper the photosynthesis process I believe.SmokenFire said:I really like Fish pepper. Yes I will get some seeds and grow this next season. I'm out of room this year.Spicy Mushroom said:How about Pimente De Neyde? It's not technically an ornamental I don't think but it sure is a pretty plant.
I haven't tasted it but some seem to really like the flavor.
I made a Serrano x Maui purple cross that I'm growing out this year with some help from a couple friends. If you remind me I'll send you some pods to try.SmokenFire said:I really like Fish pepper and Maui Purple for ornamentals that taste phenomenal. Maui Purple plant stems/leaves are dark purplish green and the pods start purple black and ripen to a light red orange. Both are at or above serrano for heat levels.

I have a few seeds that just popped up yesterday. So I'm going to have a couple plants this season for sure.Spicy Mushroom said:Surprisingly I'm not big on baccatums so far but something tells me Aji Omnicolor is what you're looking for. Around Serrano heat too I think? Maybe a little hotter but it's all underwhelming to me.
LOL, isn't that just the way it goes??? So many peppers and only so much room!!!SavinaRed said:I also ordered the purple jalapeno, the fish pepper, and santé fe grande which each have colorful peppers that look ornamental. I'll be growing these next season as I already have to many this year.
I keep telling myself "You already have 30 plants. stop it"Maligator said:LOL, isn't that just the way it goes??? So many peppers and only so much room!!!
It's a productive plant and they can be eaten at various color stages. Which makes it a great one to rely on to spice up daily dishes. Also a tad more heat than the Aji Limon/Pineapple. Of all the Baccatums I grew i'd rank Aji Omnicolor high. Aji Amarillo was probably my favorite taste-wise but it produced horribly for me (just 1 plant).SavinaRed said:I have a few seeds that just popped up yesterday. SavinaRed said:I guess what I can do is just pick out the 2 healthiest pepper plants from the MOA, Bahamian Goats, Aji's, Various Chocolates, Ornamentals etc.......... and give the rest away.
