Well, after my comments to Pepperfreak about cooking on a budget, I have decided to take my own words and use only what I have on hand.

The supplies are not fancy at all, but there's the makings of a contender in them thar cupboards! Game ON!

I'll be cooking and posting tomorrow. Just pulled some chicken out of the freezer.

TB's Margarita Lasagna

Hey ya'll the Blues Kitchen is bringin' the mojofication and kickin' it old school. I have a trifecta of lasagna with 3 layers...bottom layer...garlic alfredo with porcini mushrooms, middle layer, italian sausage and marinara, top layer, pesto cream. All the layers are topped with a blend of asiago, parmigian, reggiano, provolone, and mozzarella. Might as well plate it with fresh basil, garlic/parm toasted bread and parmigian crisps. Open a bottle of sangiovese and......heaven! Spicy, complex, oozy goozy, and oh so rich! I had to tone it down a bit as mrs. blues was eating this so I went with fresno peppers in the sausage marinara. She ate it up ya'll!!

Here are my finals and plate ups...

As I went for the classic 3 Italian colors of green/pesto, red/sausage marinara, and white/alfredo mushroom...I'll call this a Margarita Lasagna!

Wow nice one I love lasagna... but you spelled Margherita like the drink... Margarita LOL. Suits you though ;)

The stinkin' deli was closed today so no special pasta, no special parmesan, and no dried porcini mushrooms.... boooo!

I have never seen spaghettoni.....must be an Aussie 'thang. We have spaghettini which is just a smaller spag but not quite angel hair here in the US. This is looking like some kind of alfredo 'thang. If so...mrs. blues would give it...2 thumbs WAY UP! I might be losing my own wife's vote......
 
lol - you are drunk TB- that was Gas's entry!! heres my ingredients teaser :)

we have wine, olive oil, chilli pasta, tomatoes, habs, garlic, parsley, mussels, vongole and prawns.... watch out!!
