PaulG 2016

Okay, back in the saddle again.  I checked out of this forum last September,
when my wife and I went on an 8-week vacation.  We had a blast, then I came
home to two months of yard work to catch up on, and holiday season to
contend with

I just this week finished grinding up all the dry pods from last season.  Managed
to get my seeds in to soak on Jan. 15th, and into the Jiffy Pellets on Jan. 16th.
I'm going for fewer varieties this season, but 3 or 4 plants of most varieties that
I grow out.  No small pod peppers this year, just too labor intensive for the results,
although I have some awesome small pod powders laid away.   Speaking of which,
I have so much powder I'm considering packaging and selling some this summer.
I'm going to try to sell my fresh pods this Fall, so maybe no more powder production
until I need some, and then, just my favorites.

I took a picture of that same rainbow Paul. I think we live really close to each other...

Is that the Hobby Town USA north of Wilsonville by I-5?

Awesome, Paul. That rainbow pic is really cool. Can't believe the size of those Habs.
Hey, Charles, this line produces big blocky pods once in a while, all right!

That was the brightest rainbow I've ever seen.

Glad to see things just chugging along Paul! I hope the same happens for me. First time re-planting in mid summer :shh:
I have no doubt that you will prevail, Scott.
I'm pullin' for ya, buddy! Maybe you will find
this is the key growing chilis! That, and killing rats.

Pulled the pods in post #396 out of the banana
bag after four days:

They look great Paul!
I was pleased with the result, Scott.
It's a good way to save the last of the
late Fall harvest.

Those Habs ripened nicely. Nice trick with the bag. Evil little Primos. Those are one of the hottest peppers, I've ever had.
You are right, Charles, the Primos are pretty wicked.
I wish they grew better here, I've never had great
success with them in terms of decent sized pod production.
The last batch had a few nice ones in it, but it has mainly
been pumping out runts!

The banana bag is a nice last resort strategy, all right.

Anyone know why the edit function on my posts is missing?

I have a feeling they downgraded "upgraded" the software. For me when I reply to another users post, each reply is a separate entry, with different choices. I can no longer make a reply to multiples like I used to.

I agree, not near as convenient.  I noticed my
last post had an edit link.  Wha...?

No tricks Paul just pale treats ... great little harvest
Those were actually from a previous harvest - I just
saved the pic for Halloween  :D  But those crosses
are awesome, indeed.

Wow those are lookers, purple hues remind me of the Fidalga Roxa.

Never grown those, must be beauties.

Season pretty much over here, a few Aji Amarillo and 7 Pot
Burgundy brown pods still trying to ripen up. Need to take
down the last of the plants this week and get everything
buttoned up for the winter. Hard to believe the seeds for
next season will hit the Jiffy pellets in less than six weeks.

Been a decent season despite all the BLS issues in the Spring.
I'm thinking of cutting my grow back to fewer varieties for next
season, but we all know how that goes! Will be including more
mexican types, though.

Preliminary list:
   JA Red Habaneros - 5
   Fatalis - 3
Pubescens - 5 (Rocotos and Manzanos)
   PDN x Bonda - 6
Ajis - 6 (Amarillo and Limo)
   Scorpions - 3
   Mexicans - 9
Bhut Orange copenhagen - 2 (if I can find seeds)
   Sweets - 2

Harvested yesterday:
