Aji Lemon Drop (Tradewinds Fruit) - 2
Scotch Bonnet MoA (Trident Chilies, John) - 3

Numbers refer to target number of plants
for season 2017 grow. Annuums go into
Germination chambers in March.

Hey, Frank!  Thanks, buddy.
 
No worries about the hail.  It has happened in the past
and the plants recovered just fine.  The big leaves on the
Manzanos and Rocotos look a tad ragged, but not shredded   :dance:
so I don't feel too bad.  We usually don't get killer hail here like
some folk on the forum do.
 
This is pretty typical, mostly big leaves were affected:

Hopefully we won't see another of these for awhile   :pray:
I am, however, most grateful that the damage was kept
to a minimum   :)  
 
Nice looking plants in the pics on the last page. Sorry about the hail, but lucky for you it was pea sized.
 
What doesn't kill them makes them stronger!
 
Lucky thing about where I live is that we very rarely get hail.. and on the rare occasion if we do it's tennis ball sized so the plants are either fine or dead.  :rolleyes:

Thanks, my friend; they will recover.  As the day wore on,
and the tissue around the injured spots shrank, more
damage became apparent.  Will get some more pics
tomorrow, but here's one for now.  These leaves took
direct hits on the central vein:

They will bounce back quick smart Paul ... Especially when the spring rain and sunshine warmth combine and create that spring flush of growth ... Best of luck!!

We get hail here, but rarely anything damaging. If you go just 50 miles to the southwest it will take out rooftops. Something geographical there, I suppose.
 
We get wind. Micro-bursts of it that can clear a plot. I'd rather take the odds on hail...
 
...those leaves are monstrous, by the way.

Hey Paul, as you say... think positive... Ma Nature just took a hand at doing a little pruning on your plants to push the axillary growth. Now they'll be a bit bushier! :)  Drive on!
 
Hey there fart, we get that kind of hail here too. Luckily the worst I've seen at my house is half dollar sized; and I already had the sunshades up. It got a bit religious over that deal ;)  At 3:30AM it scared the heck out of us, talk about a rude awakening!

I've seen videos of some of those hailstorms - I can
only imagine how scary that would be! No thanks
 
Some leaf damage now becoming more evident.  Some of the
bigger leaves had their surfaces 'scoured' along with holes and rips.

I was looking forward to getting some out this weekend...but this damn weather has again shut me down.  Grrrr!!!
 
How do you like that greenhouse? I saw Harbor freight had them on sale not long ago....looking for another sale to pick one up.

Yeah, buddy, if it isn't one thing, it's another   :lol:
 
Hoping for a decent season this year, so far, temps about 4˚C
below normal and rain 15cm above normal.  Not a good recipe
for getting to plant-out! Last season, after a wet and cool Spring,
I planted out, and immediately the temperatures skyrocketed to
mid-30˚C range.  The poor plants didn't have any time to adjust.  
Hoping for a different situation this year.  Maybe since the Spring
has been so dismal, the Summer will be awesome  :pray:

Good luck getting anything done outside this Spring, Dan.
One of the worst in recent memory for me   :neutral:
 
The greenhouse has been great.  The panels they provide aren't
as high quality as they could be, but mine lasted 4-5 years before
I replaced them with UV-treated ones.  Putting together was pretty
easy with two people.  One thing I suggest is that you assemble the
bottom frame before making your foundation.  The instructions that
came with the greenhouse had the wrong measurement for the base.  
Fortunately, I was able to fix by scabbing on a 2x4 to the 4x4 foundation
frame, which made it the right length.  Otherwise, no problems.  They
also sell benches and shelving units for them, which I got.
 
Those units are on sale all the time at Harbor Freight.  They've been
offered for $299 ever since I bought mine!
 
For the money, I think it's the best deal going, even with replacing the
roof panels (side panels still original.)

Your plants look healthier and more beautiful every time you post. Awesome man. I hope in years to come I have the success you (and a few others here) have with your grow.

Thanks for the kind words, Alex!  I have no
doubt that you will reach your mark, my friend!  
It takes a few seasons to get the routine that
works best for you in your own climate down.
