Oh man Paul, I'm sorry to hear about your plant. I'll be paying close attention to your Rocotos. I'm looking for a few pointers on how best to grow them.
I'm no expert, but our cooler climate here in the PNW
climate, they do alright. I try to give them some shade
and just the normal fertilizing routine. they do take awhile
to ripen, however
During the summer, they get some
Cal-Mag, Silica Blast and more-Bloom. I let the Jobés
organics take care of the rest. If they seem to need more
Nitrogen in the summer, I will side dress with a little of the
Jobés.

the secret to finishing those pods is to cut the stems fresh and put in hydro nutes, even if they’re outside they will ripen completely.
had stem rot on couple of mine and they had peppers not quite ripe and worked like a charm.
They are so far from ripe, I don't know if that would
be worth the effort. I'm just going to hang them up
and see what happens. Thanks for the tip, Gipper.

Sucks about your plant Paul, I didn't know about the trick GPR mentioned, so it might be worth giving it a try. The way I look at things right now, is that they're just setbacks - things will just take a little longer to get where we want. Hope you can still taste those pods!
Thanks, HM. I will be happy if we have decent June
weather this year. That would go a long ways to setting
some more pods!
My favorite way of ripening up pods is just to hang the
branches/plant upside down in the garage. I had awesome
results with Scotch Bonnets and JA Red Mushroom pods
last year.
