Glen’s Ajicito from Panama is starting to ripen.
Not sure how big or what the final color is. I think
these are about full-size given the name. The Bush
is sturdy and robust.

This isolated pod on the Ecuador Red Rocoto
just might make it to the ripe stage:

A few more Putapario ‘Red’ c. chacoense, Argentina, CaneDog:

The pods just about fall off at this dark orange stage.

Looks like the Trippaul Threat v2 F2 is
going to have blood-orange colored pods:

Plants / pods are looking great Paul. And I agree, the flower on Dragon49’s PDN x BJ is quite the looker!

Paul, I have 1 (one) Costa Rica Red on my plant, a little smaller than yours...My Pubescens have flowered like lilacs all summer, only now are a few pods appearing. Crazy temps, crazy rain, a for sure oddity of a season...!

That one seed must be special :P
Haha, Uros! Gotta take good care of that one!

Fortunately there are three or four more very similar
pods ripe for picking In the next day or two.

It would be an awesome plant if it didn’t take
fifteen months to set pods

I hear, you Stett. The past month of crazy heat and
sun caused a ton of pods to bulk up, and then a week
or two of more moderate weather caused a ton more
pods to set all over the grow. We are heading into another
approaching-100F hot spell for the next couple of weeks,
so should see some increased pod ripening forthcoming

The micro tomatoes are most all ripening up
little fruit. Most have a nice, juicy, tomatoe-y
flavor. Yellow Olle is one of my favorites so far.
Been an interesting experiment growing these
little gems.

Getting the dehydrator underway with some
USDA cardenasii and Putapario c. chacoense:

Had to turn around the Sugar Rush Cream and
Aji Benito so some sun could get into the plants.
Will probably have to turn them around in the
upcoming hot spell to keep pods from scalding:

There are several more like these that will be ready
tomorrow or the next day. Piment de Espelette:

Hey Paul, looks like you leave the little wild peppers whole when dehydrating?  If so, how long does it take them to dry out?
I tried drying a few but I used a fork and slightly mashed them first thinking that would hurry them up.  Still took a long time.  I believe the temperature on my dehydrator was set at 110F if I remember right. I didnt want to ruin the seeds.

Hey Paul ... I was wondering do you make powder out of all those little wilds.  I see you have one tiny pod separated out in the dehydrator.  Do you mix them?  What is the final state?

Hey, Ty, it depend s on the pepper. The cardenasii
pods are so juicy, they may take 4 days or longer. The
Putapario pods, in a couple of days. I am drying at 105F.

110F is fine. Well within the seeds ability to withstand.
The Trippaul Threat v2 F2 plants were grown from seed
dried at135F in the pods, and then run through a coffee
grinder in 2014. They had 80% germination rate!

I have powdered them in the past with good results.
Now I just store them in jars whole and  grind as necessary.
I usually keep them separate. That little pod was a Bird Aji
I didn’t want to get mixed up with the others.
