Red Tepins in the AeroGarden.

Had to top the leggy one to encourage the
branches to grow out.

Still waiting the last of the lanceolatum seeds to germinate. Last hope.
Also three 2014 Goat's Weed seeds have been in the sponges for a
week. No sign of life, yet.

Not that I can recall.. At least as seedlings. I wanted to wait to answer until I could review my photos.. But off the top of my head, no. Those are certainly some lookers!
I'm not sure if I want to grow the purple ones out.
That would be a cross, right? Isn't it a green leafed
variety? Could have crossed with one of my purples,
There were lots of big purple plants close by..

It varies depending on the light it is getting.. Last year it purpled up nicely in the summer, but I don't recall it being that dark indoors. All of mine are green right now.

You know.. I still have some of the original seed from the wild pods I was sent. They are from 2018-19. :halo:
I'd definitely be interested in seeing one of those purple finish out.. I hear you about the space constraints.

Okay, I'll grow one of each, but in small pots (#2NC).
I'll just cut the rockwool cube in half to separate them.
Darn you, @Crafty Fox. Darn you to heck!

In other news. @MarcV, your BOC Din Bjarnes is start-
ing to come around. It may be small, but it looks healthy
despite the glacial growth rate. Will definitely shepard this
one through.

Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

I was messing around with my indoor grow table, comparing
the red cups with the little 4" pots. I calculated that the vol-
umes were equivalent for all practical purposes.

I put the green one in the red cup just for
comparing, and noticed it made a pretty
decent fit with a nice tight seal.

This is where the devil comes in, tempting
me with thoughts of KRATKY. This combina-
tion allows for a 7-ounce reservoir. Plenty
of holes for the roots to grow out and down.
0AB6C6A1-65CE-47AF-9EB3-D0787DAB22D1_1_201_a.jpeg

I figure it's really just a double cup, but with a larger reservoir
at the bottom. I could water the transplants through from the
top until roots started to grow out the bottom, then just fill the
reservoir to water the plants like a Kratky until time to transplant
again. Would save time watering at that point.

Probably crazy but I'm going to try a few when I transplant the
annuum seedlings, whenever that will be. I need to figure out
what kind of nutrients to use.

later: I put one of the plants in a green 4" into a red cup and f
illed the reservoir up to touching the bottom of the pot. We'll
see how that works. I am a little worried about the tight seal,
don't know if that is good.

Hey @PaulG , how long it took to germinate? I have seeds in Jiffys (from the same source) atm.

24 days, @Bou. And then it just sat there as a
pair of cotys and one tiny leaf! Looks like it is
slowly stirring. Hook on 1/8, 49 days ago.
At this rate it won't need a bigpot

Good luck with those, my friend!

Ok thanks, I was asking because I think I read somewhere that they were quite slow to germinate... My seeds have been in the ground for only 1 week so I still have time before expecting the first sprout!!

Good to see the BOC growing up! I didn't expect it would get that far!🙂

About time to move the 3-gallon containers out to the greenhouse.
Will have to run the space heater a bit for a while as nights will be in
mostly low 40's for the next month.

Removing the 5 3- gallon containers will free up some space so I can
move some plants from the grow shelf to the grow table. then I can
start some annuums in a couple of weeks.

It's already March Paul, shouldn't you be harvesting yet?

I'm be curious to see how you Red Savina will be doing. I've had some bad luck with that variety. The first time I grew Red Savina, I ended up with not-Red Savina. Good taste, can't complain about that, but it was not Red Savina. The second time, my plants succumbed to pests and disease before yielding ripe peppers.
