A co-worker just gave me a bag of these and Im not sure what they are? She said her neighbor called them Hot Bananna but I dont think so. She had also said that some are hot to her and some arent that bad -- I grew something similar years ago but they were labled Alma Paprika which they def are not so here is a picture of a few from the bag.

The yellow one may be a hot wax but I think the others are not...they look like mariachi or fresnos IMO

Thanks Jackie - I asked her again and she said that Hungarian Wax sounded familiar - The peppers are bout 4" long and 1 1/4" wide at its broadest point.

Hungarian Wax was what i was going to say, i have a couple plants and they look almost exactly the same.

Hot Wax do indeed turn red when ripe. The pods I grew hit the sweet spot when they were turned orange prior to turning red.

Alma Paprika that i grew was like this one.Round,went from yellow to orange to red.

I was quite surprised SM when they grew to Wax Peppers - I have Alma paprikas now from a generous member to grow next year - But I just got a big bag of the Hot Wax (from the pix) the other day. My family really likes them so they will be on my list next year as well
