hot-sauce pepper spray extract is not healthy

There'll be no free entertainment from foaming at the mouth, not even for scientific purpose or the Darwin awards....lol

No. All self-defence sprays are not pepper sprays. First, the self-defence sprays are divided according to their active ingredients. The two most common self-defence sprays are OC and CS. The active ingredient of OS spray (pepper spray) is cayenne pepper extract (Oleoresin Capsicum). The active ingredient of CS spray is orthochlorobenzylidene malonitrile.
Next, the self-defence sprays are also divided by the form in which the mixture in the dispenser is discharged. There are three varieties: a fog, fine jet of liquid or foam/gel are discharged from the dispenser.

Title is misleading. You did not ingest pepper spray extract, but had a hot sauce with pepper spray extract in it. Also, what you experienced was discomfort, not a health issue.

Yes, extracts are nasty, and can cause you to double over in pain, or even curl up in a pain ball. Been there. Done that.
