Peppers help with metabolism?

The studies I've seen and read do indicate that peppers do indeed raise metabolism. Capsaicin has a thermogenic effect, meaning not only do you feel the burn in your mouth, but your body also raises its core temperature for a while, which requires more calories to do. Also capsinoids generally assist in the breakdown of fats..

Cayenne powder capsules are in a lot of health food shops. Also, I remember seeing a website a few years ago about a guy who swears that he lost weight by doing little more than eating a spoon full of red pepper powder in the morning, then another at night. According to him it melted off the weight.

I have 2 friends that are personal trainers and they endorse the use of Chilli's to keep your metabolism up between training. I myself eat 2-3 Chilli's a day plus spicy condiments ... I am just addicted though :D

I lost about 7 pounds this season from eating at least one superhot a day... Mother nature stopped the flow of peppers and I mysteriously gained it back in 2 weeks and feel like something's off with my body.

Yes they do. Hubby eats chiles and powders everyday and not be gross but he sure can use the bathroom more than once a day. If he doesn't eat them literally he doesn't go. I did notice once they were a part of his regular diet he lost some pounds too.

I find it helps with digestion too. If I don't eat hot peppers/hot sauce I often reach for the Zantac or tums. If I eat hot peppers then acidic foods don't bother me as much.

Totally agree with HH81Betterhalf and ldhs, I noticed everything they've said as well. Also, I've noticed it helps my lactose intolerance a little too, I don't feel so overwhelmingly awful if I eat milk products.
