Peppers in a rum bottle, from Puerto Rico

Has anyone ever seen this? A freind took this picture in Puerto Rico and I would like some information about what you think is going on in this bottle.
Thanks,

Just a hot sauce. Look for "Goya Hot Pickled Peppers" in your market. Looks the same but has a shake (small hole) top because the point is the liquid.

Doug,
That recipe looks like dyn-o-mite! I am positive the results are spectacular.
I'll bet the top quality can only be made in CR as locally ripened CR bananas have a taste
unrivaled anywhere ....IMHO.
I have a slightly simpler recipe coming tomorrow rather than hanging the bananas for a week. It involves apple cider vinegar and a super ripe( disgustingly black) armful of plantains to ferment.
It supposedly only takes a few days.I'll try( on my GF) before I subject you guys to liquid chaos :shh:
