Thanks. I think AeroGardens have their pros and cons. If you're growing peppers I'd go with the Bounty model. Sometimes you can get them on sale for less than 200. You can build your own version much cheaper, but it won't look as nice. If you have a spouse, that might be a factor. The AeroGrow company is very good for support and stands by their products. I have very old AeroGardens I've gotten at Goodwill that still work fine. They're excellent for seed starting, and transplanting to other systems too.bubspeppers said:
Thanks for watching! You could leave out the nutes for germination. AeroGarden suggests using a 1/2 dose of theirs. For these, I used a weak solution of MasterBlend, Epsom Salt and Calcium Nitrate at 200 ppm. I think it might help acclimate them to adding more nutrients when needed. I've germinated in stronger solutions before, it's counter-intuitive, but they came up fine. Personally, I think you could go either way. A lot of folks will germinate in water only and add nutes later.wiriwiri said:
Have your tried Dyna-Gro 7-9-5? It's relatively inexpensive, around 50/gallon, more if buying in smaller amounts, but a little lasts a long time. They make a bloom formula, but I use the 7-9-5 for everything. I've used it the last two years with my drip system with good results. I've used it indoors a lot too and in my AeroGarden. I've tried Flora Nova grow and bloom, and like those too. They are very sludgy and don't seem to mix as well, but the results have been good. The Masterblend, Epsom Salt, and Calcium Nitrate cocktail works great also but is a lot more work to mix, but it's super, super cheap.D3monic said:
