Thanks for the tip.  I'll start there.

Awesome, bro.

I checked out aero gardens.  The LED ones are
just ridiculous.  The 'Extra' version is probably what I would opt
for - it's going for $179 on their web site now.  I didn't find any close
by on Craig's list when I looked for a used one, and there were no
'Extra' models at all.  So I'm not sure I'm going for one.  That seems
like a lot of money for a new one, but they sure seem to work!

How well do the AeroGarden plants make the transition to soil? The root development is very interesting.
Mine stays normal, after transplant, they don't get shock, only transition for them is hardening

another small update to my babies....aerogarden and the baby plants you will see on my 1quart containers,  is same age, compare the difference...

and here is my 1 quart container, same age with aerogarden plants...

and my other babies

and mixing some of my used up soil,

should i add some SAND to my mix? is it a bad idea or its ok to use some sands?

Your aerogarden plants are over the top, literally, brah!  I just can't believe how good they work.

So, I bit the bullet and ordered an aerogarden Extra this afternoon.  should be here by the 20th.
They have a 25% off everything on the aerogarden web store, so the $179 Extra model was $134.

Is that thing hanging on your light hood a light booster or whatever they call it.  That was their
free gift for ordering.

As fast as those things grow out, one could get a cycle of plants into gallons quickly, and start
another round.  I can't wait to experiment with it.  I can already see I'll be looking for things to
substitute for their grow kits - they seem kind of expensive.  I ordered one just to see what they
are, and to see what might be jury-rigged in its place.

Move over, Jericson, here comes AeroPauly!

P.S.  Some sand can't hurt!

im happy for u pauly...finally u got yourself one ...they are really good in germinating seeds....u gonna keep sowing like there's no tomorrow...a good example is DENNIZ lol...he got addicted,
yea they on sale...till tonight i think, but i never ordered, ...

thats a good name lol, aeropauly...cant wait to see your grow on your new toy :fireball: :fireball: :fireball: :fireball:

I need to visit Denniz' glog and warn tell him he's got company!
He definitely went all out on them!  But you still the man, Pinoy!

Those aerogardens seem to work magic. Very cool.

Hawaiian Ghost Chiles...going nuts on her flowers

can you spot the pods

babies

Romys unkown pepper

and all my ripe super hots been murdered by birds every pod that ripen....how can i prevent this ? :mope: :mope:

Just fantastic looking plants Jericson!

The Aerogarden is working quite well for you.

Liking the poddage too!

I read somewhere that birds don't get the burn from the peppers, here they tear up the tomatoes. I have to pick them as soon as they start to turn. Grapes, never have gotten to eat a ripe grape. Peaches and Pears get hammered too:(

Two things I can think of, old cd's or even better red Christmas ornaments...let them peck on those babies! Another thing is a water source, they might be after the water. Of course put it away from the plants.

Good luck!

Fantastic looking plants Pinoy!

What kind of soil mix are you using? Looks like you got some gravel mixed in there?

I very much appreciate the variety of containers you're using. Last year I collected a bunch of icing buckets from my local grocery store, about 3-4 gallons a piece. How many holes do you put in the bottoms for drainage? Do you water from the bottom?

thanks!

im using a used up soil from organics 707 and promix hp, im just amending it with azomite, bone meal, blood meal, and mykos, i mix it everyday for 2 weeks

i use any kind of containers available on my house or work place, i put 5 holes on the bottom , i bottom feed and top feed, depends on my mood lol

In the past, I have bottom watered with regular waterings,
and top watered with fertilizer.  Seemed to work ok.  Right
now, I'm trying bottom watering some Root Pouches, even
when fertilizing.  I prefer top watering to get the whole root
ball moist, but indoors the fungus gnats invade the space in
the garage!

I guess I'm with Jericson, sort of ambivalent about it.
