In the past, I have bottom watered with regular waterings,
and top watered with fertilizer.  Seemed to work ok.  Right
now, I'm trying bottom watering some Root Pouches, even
when fertilizing.  I prefer top watering to get the whole root
ball moist, but indoors the fungus gnats invade the space in
the garage!

I guess I'm with Jericson, sort of ambivalent about it.
yep yep yep...they both works its fine....

Woot plants look great, sad to read about the birds ... get a pellet gun ;) You could try making a scare crow and if that doesn't work a screen enclosure would do the trick, aside from that I haven't a clue. When I see too many birds get close to my plants I chase them off, I have been hit but they've never eatten all of the pods, good luck.

Wishing you and yours a great holiday & happy new year!

Gettin me worries. Alot of the time birds help me control various pests, I wonder now if they were eating Tabasco peppers off one of my plants...
yea birds helps control pests, and controls your pod production also :mope:

Plants and yard look great, those damaged pods are a shame. There has to be a way to scare them, how about a fake Owl. They use them at work to keep the Grackles away.

Good luck!

Should make for some bushy specimens!

Very nice update. Took me a while.

Paul G. May the force be with you!! The aerogarden is no joke I have three but refuse to bust out all three coz then I'd go crazy with them. You can even make your own starter kit. And yes. Jericson is te aerogarden king I started because of him !

I got my first 2 for $75 but the motors didn't work. I did get a third 6pod for $25 with so many goodies. As for the lights. They can. Be expensive so down the line you should get the adaptor so you can just use plain cheaper CFLs

Te aerogarden is an amazing easy does it hydro machine. It will consume you.

When I'm not using the aero. I'm using it for the lights.

Excellent pod shots brah! It's a drag that the birds are pecking holes in your pods though...  if it gets bad enough, I guess it'll be time to go for the BB gun... Hope you had a great Christmas. It was pretty quiet here, which was just what we wanted. Cheers!
