Pi's must try beer list.

Arrogant Bastard Ale is delicious. While not a porter or stout, this is an ale that kicks like one. And it's actually really drinkable for a 7.2%: http://www.stonebrew.com/arrogantbastard/

One of my old favorites that I can't find locally is Sheaf stout. It's Guiness-like, but has a more earthy taste that's rich with coffee-esque flavors but really, grows on you. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/353/1992 It's kind of hit and miss - people either love or hate it.

My favorite porter is Anchor Steam - I think it's their best beer. They do a great winter ale, and a few other solid brews, but the porter is near & dear to my heart. http://www.anchorbrewing.com/beer/anchor_porter

I don't see any Bock on your list, but I love 'em. Nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than an ice cold bock. At the moment my favorite bock is Shiner Bock, from Shiner, TX. As i understand, they're the longest concurrently brewed beer in the USA - prohibition came & went and just never noticed these German farmers brewing Shiner. Look for the yellow label/red star. http://www.shiner.com/

If you're on the big island of Hawaii, you MUST go up to Wiamea and visit The Big Island Brewhaus. Tell the brew-master Thomas that your a friend of Lucky Dog Hot Sauce as he's a fan. ;) Really great guy - used to be a brewmaster for Kona brewing company before splitting off to do his own thing. He's got a ridiculous number of varieties on tap - his Tropo Lilliquoi (sp?) is a pale ale with hints of passion fruit - not while drinking, but while exhaling after you swallow a sip. He's got 2-3 stouts on tap, a bock, several ales and all very very good. I love his stout infused with toasted coconut and coffee - so good! http://bigislandbrewhaus.com/

if you can find it try "3 monts" is a french beer.. my take is it looks like a lager/blond belgian its light but balanced flavor head retention is amazing. but not a lacer. oh yea did i mention it was a bit of a axe murderer? comes in 750ml corked bottles and has a 8.5%abv donsent drink like a 8.5 though.

Your IPA list is really weak. Two must adds to the list are Ninkasi and my all time favorite IPA Calderon.

The Calderon is a bit unconventional as it comes in a can instead of a 22 bottle, but it has the best hoppy flavor of any IPA I have tried. The flavor really sits in your mouth for a while.

Nobody listed anything from Orkney Brewery. Red McGreggor is a really good irish red and Dragonhead is a very good stout. If you can find them.

Thanks to everyone. I somehow missed a few posts but am now caught up. I need to print the list so I have it when I make a beer run. LanMan, I just searched for Orkney and they have it at our Binny's store so I will look for that.

I've tried these, not sure we can get many of the others often in Australia - Great list

Chimay Grande Réserve (Blue) - Love
Delirium Tremens
Duvel - Love!
Sierra Nevada Porter
Steinlager

Scofferhoffer Hefeweizen has to be my all time favorite beer.

I see you have Gulden Draak and Chimay I love both, Maredsous is the ale that really got my interest started in the Belgium stuff.

Drinking Founders Breakfast Stout. I find it bitter but will try again when it gets cooler. Need a couple of hours. Tried it with feta and hard salami which paired very well IMO.

Nice smooth drinking stout, Left Hand Milk Stout

Nice quad from Boulevard's Smokestack series. The Sixth Glass

A bit more robust stout from the Smokestack series, Dark Truth Stout

Not really a big fan of most lighter colored beers but this farmhouse ale from Boulevard was pretty damn good

That's it from me.....at the moment.

My favorite beer....period! I love it. Had three 22 oz. last weekend.
As the bottle cap says, "Hated by many, loved by few."
And more importantly, "You're Not Worthy!" ;)

Try some Stone IPA, Ruination. Bell's Hopslam.

Love Ruination Ale. Wish it wasn't $5.99 a bottle or I would have it weekly.

Pi, at some point you should consolidate the list and use a 1 to 10 scale with the ones you have had a chance to try. It would be interesting to see if a trend towards one or two styles is starting to develop.
