Yeah, it is. All his vintage ukes are Martins as well. And i'll tell him what you said, but he's not a chilehead so i doubt he'd go for it.

I knew it...I have wanted a vintage Martin Mandolin for years...

The two V's would never forgive for not showing them off...

Note: the white V and LP Pro pictured have since been top wrapped.

Mmmmmm, TB, i'm lovin' that gold top. Especially with P90s in it.

Much obliged Sick. I love my V's but for straight up raw tone, the Les Pauls with P90's are it!

AJ, top wrapping is stringing from the pickup side and up and over the tailpiece. It adds heaps of sustain, adds a touch more high's and increases lowend punchiness. It also adds a bit more slinkiness to the strings thus allowing easier bending by reducing the string break angle from the tailpiece over the bridge and nut.
Not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but I love it. The same effect is built into the design of the Goldtop pictured before as well as the LP Jr in the thread start off.

Here's a piccy before and after on the Les Paul Pro..

Before topwrap...

And after...

Clapton and many others have topwrapped and found it a very useful easy mod. The most famous topwrapped player and guitar would be Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and his '59 Burst known as Pearly Gates.

cool on the top wrap...I see now...it seems that is the way it SHOULD be done anyway IMO...
