I don't think you will be disappointed. I usually had to remove a piece or two of very small "twigs" when I used it to germinate seed but my tomato seeds average 5 days to sprout, most peppers close to same or maybe a day longer. I also used Tomato-tone as the fert but added a bit of fish emulsion once. Bottom watered and had plants plenty large enough to transplant in six weeks, with a 3" container nearly root bound.

At this time, I'm using rock wool but only because the seedling are going into hydro and I don't want to have to wash the roots, cut a hole in the net pot, etc.

There's no perlite in my mix so i had to buy some from the closest hydro store...
I'm contemplating going completely hydro but am not quite set on that one yet:-)
