Profanity....

Can't say that I've noticed a lot of swearing, but I don't really check the threads that have nothing to do with chile peppers, ie. The Lounge.

I think it's a bit unfair to say that anyone who's language can be 'spicy', lacks an extensive vocabulary, or means of properly expressing themselves. It has a lot to do with where you live, and who you commonly associate with.
For example in Australia swearing is not as taboo as it (assuredly) is in Salt Lake city, Utah. :P
All the same, I respect not swearing in front of little $*%¥*$-%'s... I mean children. :O

Did you know that flirting is illegal in Little Rock, Arkansas? Different strokes for different folks.
I get ya Ra Ra.

In Sweden we do have a culture that is more tollerant than Us when it comes to swaring.
But that doesn't meen that we lack vocabularity.
We are probably more down to earth & not afraid of stuff.;)

Well anyway i try to adapt to the forums i'm in.
Some may be more tollerant than others.

I understand that we should think about children but it cannot be too strict.
Some swearing should be allowed if it is used in a limited way(not on a regular basis and not too course).

I have not searched through the whole forum yet so i have not seen any bog and ugly profanity yet but i don't believe that i should be that chocked if i came over it because of my culture.

I do take my own responsibility and try not to swear too much or even try not to swear at all in this forum.
But if it just happen that my tung slippes and say damnit, what the hell or something similar i wont have a bad conciense for it.
It doesn't meen that i'm eveil or stupid.;)

If someone could link to a thread or two whwere there are "too course" swearing i could check it out & say what i think about it.
It is easier too see then where we may or may not differ.

Peace! /The Swed up north.

Swearing in person can have a real effect(although I don't encourage it) unlike swearing online which only has a negative impact, and shows ignorance and immaturity in my opinion

I see CBS canceled $#*! My Dad Says.

Me thinks AJ is showing some serious clout. :shame: :stop: :shame:

I do use the "minor" ones on occasion but usually as an attempt at humor. When I first got here the first time I seen an F-bomb I immediately sent a PM to the boss. Not a huge fan of that one in mixed company. Now, when I'm yelling at my kids.........

I like to make up my own swear words or use different
deities to swear by.

Odin's Crotch! has been a recent favorite.
