RIP Levon Helm

He's had cancer for a number of years and took a turn for the worst this last week. Still saddened by this. Had a truly unique voice and was a key component in making The Band who they were; the best group making authentically American rock music EVER. If Ophelia doesn't get your toe tapping, nothing will!

Think I'll get out my copy of "The Last Waltz" tonight and give it a rewatch (for the 47th or so time). Some people can drum, some people can sing, no one can Levon Helm!

Yea I was listening to PBS radio in my car tonight and they played that last gig he did while he was still sick.
May he rest in peace and I am sure he is in a awesome place now...
