RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

There are no gardening mistakes, only experiments." -- Janet Kilburn Phillips

I love that quote and it will try my best to remember it through this new grow. So, I'm going with only 18 varities this year as we're looking at moving to a larger house if not buying this summer and I really don't want to have to try and haul a ton of plants when we do. the ones I've selected are:

Alot of them are ones i started last year that never grew beyond a certain point and I'm pretty sure that a lot of it was my new grower mistakes. Since I really want to try them I'm giving them a grow again. Once again, thanks to everyone that helped me getting started with gifts of seeds and to all on here thanks for leaving your incredable words of wisdom that we can all learn from.

Cheers to a bountiful grow this year.

We have been in the new house since Saturday and the adventure continues. The first thing I forgot was that the house sat for a year with no one living in it. The owners would go by and keep things in check like the pool chemicals and such but things like the hot water heater didn't get used as they would have been with someone living there. So, without thinking we needed to drain the thing to get any hard water build up out we just jumped into the showers that first night. Well now, 4 showers have to have new cartridges installed. Oh and now the A/C unit in the master suite is not blowing as cold as it should be, probably needs some Freon added, so a call will be made to the A/C guy and since bad things always seem to come in 3's we're wondering what's going to be next. Ahhhh, it's so nice to be a home owner

Pepper Row is in the planning stages right now. I'll be picking up the plants from mom's place this weekend and getting them at least set out and I'm going to try and do some video showing what's there now and what my plans are, well it'll be an IPhone video so here's hoping it's in focus.

Great things coming so stay tuned and Matt, Jamie and Fiddy, I have your sauces and am hoping to get them out after the first, after the A/C guy gets paid. Wish I had a listing of plumbers, HVAC and electricians that would work for Hot Sauce

Congrats on the move.

I ran a fishing boat for a guy down there that owned Tru-Flo Plumbing, not sure if he's still in business but a good guy to deal with if so and does service calls to Titusville. His name is Mike. Also know a guy that does HVAC but can't remember his company name, his name is Brian Rodriguez, can probably find him easy though.

Look forward to the video even if it is a little blurry. The better halfs iphone is starting to go so I'm sure I'll be getting her another one or a Galaxy in the near future.

Congrats again on the move in!

And yes, home ownership can be costly. Too bad you're so far away, I have some R12 in the shop, don't need it anymore since we had to replace the whole shootin' match this spring...

As for the faucets, did they start dripping? I'm wondering if after a hot water heater flush that they couldn't possibly be flushed by running them wide open...just a thought...

Good luck on your adventures and hopefully they're easy on the pocket!

Had a little time this morning and picked a few satellite pics off of Google to kind of give a preview of Pepper Row.

This is the side of the house that Pepper Row will run along. It starts at the fence and will extend down the side fence line to the garden, where the play ground currently is. I get to start tearing down the play ground this weekend. it's in bad condition and we don't want the little ones getting hurt messing with it.

View from the back of the house. The grass between the house and fence runs, gotta measure it still, about 6 to 8 feet. The side fence is chain link and has some Ivy growing up and over it that my wife likes and wants to leave there so the fence doesn't show. So my plan is to come out from the brick pavers another 2'. Strip out the grass there and in go the peppers.

Here is a better look at how much room there is there. That PVC fence will most likely come out and be replaced with something else and a smaller gate that will be more functional.

More to come this weekend as I get the plants moved over so stay tuned and have a great weekend :)
