romy6 2013

Well 2012 is old news so time to push onward. It was a great year for me pepperwise. If you did not get a chance to follow me last year and would like to check it out here is the link http://thehotpepper.com/topic/27252-romy6-2012/. It will save me from explaining my grow and being redundant. I am an outdoor grower only from start to finish. I try to keep my aphid /bug colonies to a minimum while batteling the temps as while growing in east central Florida. I plan on growing many other new varieties in a few months so keep an eye out. Until then I wish a great grow for all and look forward to following all of your grows. After fighting off the tequilla hangover this moring I managed to stumble along and pick my first harvest of the new year. Some yellow 7's, yellow scorps, yellw scotch bonnets with a tail, hybrid bhut, not douglah, mystery annums, choc hab , cho bhut bhut and a choc bhut x yellow 7 f3. Winter pods are always a little funky looking IMHO

 Happy New Year

"March Madness" is happening...not on the court but in the garden. Speaking of shooting buckets, your bucket plants are taller than the players.

Always fun to get the little help involved......and a big smile on top of it !

Jamie, Great update! I have the same issue with oak leaves but I blow them rather than rake, even mulch some and use as ground cover but not for peppers, only in front & side yard planters. I think you are right on that fence being too small but hope it works. Love the pics; Tebow over the little fence, Cris planting cukes, whoa what a trim on the “not yellow brain,” & especially all the containers lined up like a machine … every ting looking great at romy6 Casa de peppers ^_^

Great update, Jamie. It's nice the children are also involved into gardening. Must be great already being able to start planting out, I just woke up and there's about 2 inch of snow laying here :banghead: Last week it was 17°C and now it's -6°C

Ah, growing all year! Love it! Looking good dude. Florida? Those plants are gonna be huge.

Thanks Rich. It has it's ups and downs. I do see a 10 foot Birgit in that corner in my near future.

Nice update...try an electric fence for tebow the terrible. Sounds cruel, but I get up against them all the time and it really isn't pain as much as it is a startle. Which of the babies are the ones that are going to lose in the growdown? Purple and brown pots??? If so, they sure are cute...and so TINY. I would just feed those plants to tebow and forget the whole growdown thing...hahaha. Always great looking at your green!

Thanks bro. I may have to go to the electric but it would more likely zap me more than Tebow . Pain doesn't bother his thick self. I have 3 Birgits in a purple pot and 3 in a brown. 6 contenders .

Awesome update bro! Get those plants good and strong before the weather gets crazy. Tebow is getting big as hell, and lil Chris wins "cutest helper", no contest!!

Thanks brother John . I here ya on the weather? The heat is coming way too soon.

Jamie, looking great bro! Have your tried using mint to keep Tebow at bay? Dogs don't seem to like the smell and dont want to go near it. Might help to keep him away.

Tebow is a handful . I have a feeling he might be the only dog that would like some mint. But I have not ruled it out.

Good on ya for prepping the outdoor grow Jamie, I like the smile on your garden helper too. Cheers!

Thanks Rickster. She is a cutie pie I must agree. I should have done my prep work two months ago. But better late than never.

Thanks Greg . My angel has the magic touch so expect big things from the in-grounders this year.

Funny you say that Ramon. I started blowing the leaves but the wife shut it down when the dust started taking over. Plus nothing compares to a perfectly raked yard. Thank you for the kind words.

I just love how she knows to pose! Great pics, cute helper! Lookin' good Jamie! Is this the year that mystery annuum catches up with the oak tree? I'm staying tuned to find out...

Andy my man I do think the mystery annuum will reach epic heights this year. And Cristina is all about the smile:)

That is one cute little helper. She is quite the little super star. I have envy that you are working in your garden already. I have a lot of yard to till up and am anxious to get it prepped.

I don't envy you northerners Pia. But nice weather is on the way. Thanks for the love .

Stefan that is some nasty weather . I think it is time to make the move to the America's :>} Your grow looks sweet and I can't wait to see them babies prosper.

Thanks Rodney. I appreciate the kind words and thank my lucky stars every day.

I've seen some cute kids around here lately, ya'll must have some good looking wives, sure as heck can't be getting their looks from dad.

That is for damn sho P money. Thank goodness they got there momma's looks . :fireball:

And now for a little food porn. John Prodigal_son and Kev both sent me some chili love. John some tasty pickled garlic with yellow 7's and Kev(Wayright) some of his amazing fermented hot garlic sauce. Throw it on anything and " BAM " You got yourelf a kick as meal  I chose chicken cause I could not afford steak

It is, Jamie. Maybe I should with all these :censored: taxes over here and rules to keep us under the thumb but let's not get me started on this ;) My grow is doing really well and things are moving along rather quickly. I take it as a sign for this year's season is gonna be a good one :)

Great foodie and I thought I was the only one eating so much chicken for the same reasons :D

You are not alone my friend :)

I love the shots of your little helper, they warm my heart :)

Those sauces look pretty awesome. How was the garlic pickled with 7 pods? I love the taste of 7 pods, and I grow lots of garlic, so this would be a great thing for me to try if it works out well.

Thanks Stefan. The garlic is supendous. I highly recomend you try it. With your skills it should be a breeze.

Conrad that sounds delish!!!!

Food is looking awesome!!!

Thanks Jeff. It tastes awesome too!

That chow looks fantastic. The hot garlic must be great to cook with. Love the shots of your little helper!

Thanks Brett. Garlic is a wonderful thing.

Romy,

Nice grow, and I'm sure you're mighty proud to have that special little helper out there with you, she's a cutie!

So what do you do to handle the bugs?

Keep up the good work!
