RoninGarden 2013 Glog

Welcome to another season of RoninGarden,

In this episode...

2013 is here, and a new season is upon us.

This season I got a good head start on the summer outdoor season. I've started a few new strains for 2013 as well as carrying over a few from 2012.

Currently the kids are residing in my closet, within a makeshift grow room.
All are in Airpots varying in size from 1/2 liter for the new sprouts, to 1.5 gallon for the 2012 survivors.
Lighting is a dual bulb t8 fixture running 6500k lamps.
My growing medium is Promix Bx.

I used these nutes in 2012 with great results, so I'm sticking with what has worked for me...

Having recently moved, my summer growing space has been reduced by half compared to what I had in 2012.
None the less, I'm planning on moving all peppers outside once summer rolls around so they can enjoy the wonderful Colorado sun..
At this point, the plan is to move them into root pruning pouches approximately 5-7 gallons in size.
We'll see how that all goes...
2012 was a great learning experience, can't wait to see what 2013 throws at me...

Thanks for stopping by!

Until the next update.....

Thanks everyone who's stopped by and thanks for all who asked if it's all good.
Life's been busy and hectic lately.
Just haven't had time to post or read much for that matter.
The peppers are all in ground and doing well. I'll post a full update and pics later tonight. Just got to get some photos together.
So, stay tuned for a the next episode of RoninGarden....

Welcome to another edition of RoninGarden!

It's been a while since the last update.
I moved recently and now have an outdoor garden space again.
Everything has moved out of the tent and into the great outdoors.
This year, they're all in the ground. This is a first for me. All my experience has been in containers.
But no worries. I know the soil in this garden is healthy and clean.
Let's get to the pics....

Here is what I was met with. 10'x50' Full of god knows what. Out came the weed whacker and the beginnings of the compost pile.

After pulling and cutting as much as possible I got to it with the tiller.
2 days of tilling to get to this point.

All the kids got to hang out in the shade then full sun for a week prior to going in ground.
Got them placed in their new locations.

In the ground they went.

Once everyone got comfortable I then added the walkway.

Once the walkway had settled I was then able to lay the irrigation out and set it in place. I now have total water coverage!
I also added a cage to protect the strawberry patch from the birds.

It's now been approximately 30 days and the undergrowth has started to fill in.
Purslane is what I'm using as ground cover.
It's everywhere here in Colorado, and it's actually pretty good in salad.
Here's a few views from left to right.

I'll end this update with a long view in the garden.

Next update I'll have a few pics of some of the pods that are shaping up...

Thanks for stopping by!

Until the next update.....

Awesome! !!!! Man with what you've shown in the past this is going to get epic quick.
And a big +1 to that! Man, you've been busy, and didn't let on what you've been up to you rascal... good on ya!

Congrats!  Looks like you put a lot of work into that garden space.  The plants look like they are returning the kindness with growth.  Do you still have any hydro plants going, or did everything go in-ground?

Purslane, huh, I like that idea.  I've got some (apparently) indestructible, low-growing arugula I may try that with.
