Rookie Needing Clarifications

Hate to be a bother, but since a couple of my plants turned out to be something that they weren't and since this is my first time growing supers, I thought I just verify what I actually have.

Tobago Seasoning?

01Tobago.jpg

Just need to make sure if I save seeds to use next year and if someone wants some, I am sending them correct seeds. All your helo is so much appreciated. I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.

Thanks,
Jeff

Okay, thanks for all the help. I will switch the two mentioned.

I have read there is tabago seasoning and a tabago which are quite different. Whats the difference in look and taste and heat.

Lets see if I can throw the last 5 I had questions on.

This came in a package of cayenne blend. Can cayennes be stunted like this? I had a bit of a citrus taste with some heat that didn't start out hotter than a cayenne, but it went above that and lingered a while. Nice short lived burst of citrus though.

Hope this can be distinguished by leaves. Orange Manzano

I think I got this one :) Yellow Scotch

Not sure how one would tell the difference until they ripen...Yellow Bhut

This one is a super hot, had a tag, but somehow it came up missing. I think the watering loosened it from the dirt and the last storm blew it where I can't find it.

I guess I could look through my grow list and come up with the plant that is missing....ooopsie

Of course my grow list doesn't take into consideration that I didn't mark down the ones I got no plants from. I know none of my chocolates came up, so the one on the list that I don't have a tag for is a 7 pot yellow

???

That first post is awesome man! Helps me in sorting out the peppers I have. All grown from peppers that were given to me by my folks or mother inlaw. All varietys found in one part or another of trinidad.

From what i have learned looking for the Tobago Seasoning is its also called a pemento pepper. Not hot at all. But loads of flavor in it. I cant say for sure what they taste like because i have not tasted anything like them before. The Tobagos are similar in look but hot like fiya!!
so my mother inlaw has told me. lol. she took a bite of one and made mention of it a few weeks ago. lol. i laughed. lol.

I've grown tonnes of different plants labelled as Trinidad or Tobago seasoning, some hot some mild and all different shapes. These appear to be more victims of chile taxonomy gone wrong

Bodeen, I wouldn't let not knowing the names bring you down. We all have been there at one time another. Just enjoy them for the flavor and heat. But the main thing is not to label them something they are not. So a good title for it would be Bodeen's mystery chinese or whatever variety it may be. :hell:
