I usually save sammiches for leftover meatloaf. Brown both sides in a pan and make a meatloaf patty melt with 1000 Island, Swiss and grilled onions. This was really good though. I added a couple Biker Billy jalas to it but i could not really taste them.

Outstanding meatloaf sammich.

And makes a great taco too!

Ono grinds.

Teriyaki Spam.

I didn't even crisp it up in cast iron.

And then I made a sammich.

With mayo.

Jalapenos.

Pickles.

Tomatos.

Onions.

Pepperidge Farm Whole Wheat Slider Buns.

It was goodern' hell!

And because.

Nobody on death row.

In any state in this country.

Has ever requested a vegetarian last meal.

I reckon....

I'm old enough now that I don't give a shit anyhow.

The only problem with Spam is this...

It tastes like the new hotness.

But it looks like your grandma.

So call me Ray Charles.

WM at least mix your own hot sauce in the mayo. I know the tomato is the main event but even a little amount in mayo is a nice touch.

THP,

Honestly, I've never considered it. Been eating it the same way all my life, (excepting of course the tomatoes) which vary from time to time. I ate them as a kid, don't know what kind they were really, but my dad would make'em and they were good. At one time here in the southeast America, there used to be road signs that indicated a "picnic area."  It was a sign (as best I can recall) with a picnic table and a tree. On road trips, I remember we would stop at such places and he would make tomato sandwiches. I don't see those signs anymore (at least not where I travel.)

I might try as you suggest (as an experiment.) No doubt it would be good (I hasten to add "my own" sauce) but it may alter my reasoning to make them in the first place. Because I like them? - yes!  Because they are good? - yes! Because they harken back to great childhood memories? -yes!

I will give it a go. If it messes up some "time continuum" or some psychological sh*t, I coming for you, mayonnaise, tomato and sauce in hand! I got your name, I got your number......
