Scotch bonnet question

I spent a few hours today looking online to try and buy Jamaican scotch bonnet seeds to grow my own here at home. I was surprised to see so many different kinds it was pretty overwhelming. One thing I notced was that all the pictures of the scotch bonnets I saw are way bigger than the ones I bought earlier this year at a Jamaican market. Just wondering if any one has info on this.

I was intrigued by the moa but every site I found was sold out. Is there a variety that produces smaller peppers? These are green, yellow, with a cpl Orange ones all about 1 inch long and wide

I've been on a multi-year quest to find ones that are true to the ones I had in the caribbean several years ago.  I enjoy them all but to this day I haven't found that one that exemplifies what I had down there  :confused:  Rather than growing a different kind year after year, my plan this year is to buy from some fresh pepper vendors and buy/trade pods with some of the kind folks around here and try a bunch.  There is a lot of people growing them and I would rather pay for some pods and get a large variety then keep putting forth the effort to grow from seed year after year for something that doesn't quite do it for me!  :party:

Try the TFM (trenton farmers Market) yellow Bonnet and the Foodorama Bonnet.
Both are VERY productive,TRUE  Yellow Bonnets.
Beth/Peppermania used to sell them.
Beth died a while back but the seeds are still around.
 
I have several versions of Bonnets,some for SASBE,or trade.
I'd have to go through my stash to see what I have in numbers to share.
A lot of landrace seeds from their place of origin.
Bonnets are up there on my list of likes.

Try the Chocolate bonnet too.
 
MOA is a Dept. of Agriculture variety from wherever.
I forget what MOA specifically means right now.M.O.A.,not moa.
It's like C.a.r.d.i. or whatever...

Interesting thread. One question I have is; being in New England we have a limited number of grocers that carry these peppers to begin with. What type, based upon above descriptions, would you say are carried by Whole Foods or any large produce vendor? I've run into issues at both places with staff telling me that the habaneros and multi colored scotch bonnets are one and the same.....
