sounds like fun for the novice/beginner gardener but the seeds they return will be highly unlikely isolated so then the person that gets the seeds next will be getting a half rainbow half red carrot because they didnt isolate the seeds. hahahaha just my .2 cents but i would like one around my town for the kids and adults that want to take up gardening as a hobby
i guess that is one way to get your kids into growing a garden

Great idea to promote grow your own. So many reasons to grow your own veggies and herbs but no need to preach to the choir this early.
