seeds Seed Viability

I have a couple of questions for the chile sages:

1. I currently have a large amount of last year's crop in my freezer. Will the seeds of these peppers be viable?

2. If I buy dried pods at the market, will these seeds be viable?

If the seeds in the freezer weren't died first, they probably won't be viable.

The viability of dried seeds depend on how the pods were dried. If they were sun dried, or dried at a low heat, they'll probably be viable. If they were heat dried at a high temperature, they probably won't be viable.

What would constitute high heat?

Damn... I thought my frozen pods would be able to provide me with seeds...

Thanks for the answer, though

My theory on that is you never know. Just plant 10 or 15 of each in a cell or two and if one comes up - you're in business.
