Love that cigar! I really miss the good cigars in Spain. One of the things I enjoyed living there!
Even the fresh Farias were pretty good! But nothing like a cuban! I snuck a box home when
we came back! But that was a long time ago and they are long gone!

I think there are a number of cigar makers here at the island with products very similar to the cuban super expensives.
I´m prepared to roll my own cigars, but because of the large Chili programm this year will have no time to grow and cure wrapper leaves.

I've marvelled at the number of Rocotos.

Just made a small YouTube video to show three of the greenhouses:

Each greenhouse is about 60ft long and about 12ft wide.
Maximum capacity is about 180 plants per greenhouse in 2.5gal pots and some extra in 10gal pots.

The ultrafine mesh doesn´t allow entrance of insects and reduces wind flow even under storm to a very slow movement.
To avoid cross pollenization of varieties standing side by side, we use natural spacing with C. pubescens and spacing with plastic covered frames, you can see standing outside the houses.

You are right, I have had great cigars from las canarias, and
some central and south american, too. I wonder if a lot of those
growers started with cuban seed back in the day?

I'd like to see your tobacco leaf grow when you ever get to it!
