seed-plant-vendors Semillas La Palma

Kind of surprised nobody started a thread for these guys yet. Every time I browse there I feel like a kid in a candy shop... reasonable prices (even after the Euro conversion) and an awesome selection- they advertise over 650 varieties. I bought from them both last year and this year and had good germ rates on my seeds, and last year's grew true.

Only awkwardness is they're based in Spain... they have an English language page but not all of the descriptions are translated. Still, if you know what you're looking for it's not an issue. International orders are made easy through PayPal. My orders arrived within a couple weeks.

The reason for the phytosan is not fear of disease transfer.....nope. No fault of his - the Canary Islands are part of a major cocaine smuggling route!
I've had my shipment from him opened by our border control (probably hoping to score some party powder!) and then handed over to agriculture department (they seized it).
Your parcel will be intercepted. And if you have a phytosan then it will be on its merry way to you after a search.

Some more news from Semillas (from their Facebook page)...

Hello dear Semillas community,
We're back with a new video update on YouTube! There’s good news – and some not-so-good news – but it’s best if you see for yourself...
In the meantime, we’ve added a contact form on our website where you can send us your favorite chili and tomato varieties – until the shop is expected to launch in September.
We’d also love to hear what fascinates you most about gardening, nature, and farming. Thanks and see you soon!
We're getting back to work and will check in again with fresh updates very soon.
Your Semillas Team

In the video it was said that they bought seeds of 30+ pepper and tomato varieties from a known seed producer in order to start earlier since their own SLP seed stocks coming from the Canary Islands wouldn't arrive until April. Of the vendor seeds, 16 varieties didn't grow true. Hopefully all their legacy SLP seeds arrived okay and will be available going forward, though I thought it a bit curious that they didn't comment on them arriving or being started.
[EDIT] :drunk:

Anyhow, I'm happy to hear the news that they're working on things and I hope they'll find their stride quickly. The greenhouses look great. Wish I had a few of those myself! :)
