He was saving that money to buy a microwave.

I remember my first microwave.

That baby could do a hot-dog in under a minute.

Me and my buddies used to get together on Saturday nights, pop a couple of brewskies, a tin of cope, and microwave all kinds of stuff.
She was an 84 Kenmore. The door had a large crack in it, but it was only cosmetic. Nothing a little bondo couldn't fix.
Every time something broke on her, I'd save my pennies and order new parts from an old JC Whitney or Sears catalog and do all the work myself.
She taught me a lot about life.
Sometimes when I look back, I miss that old microwave.
My crazy thoughts think that I would trade in my new stainless one just to have that old jalopy back.
But I was a bachelor then. Times have changed.
Now when I tuck my little son into bed at night, the nostalgia makes me wish she was still around so I could pass her along to the next generation.

Damn, FD, getting me all nostalgic about my first used microwave in college.

Paint was scratched in some places, faded in others, chipped, dented, and the intreior had stains that just couldn't be removed.
A small vise-grip on a missing dial... ah, those were the days. Sometimes, I'd get a little tipsy before the games, whip her out and do doughnuts in the parking lot.
And she ran hot. Scent is a very powerful memory stimulator, and every now and then I run across something that reminds me of my old used microwave.
I felt horrible abandoning her in the parking lot of my old college apartment building... missing a light and a handle, but I got a ton of mileage out of her, and she never crapped out on me once.

Then there's my old air popcorn maker. She could do 0-120 kernels in under two minutes. I got soooo many chicks with that.

Good times, good times.

Sooooo How about "Outdoor Chopped"?

Boss could tell us the ingreds like Wednesday? or Monday? to give us a week to ruminate?????

Aw, man! Y'all are bringing up ol' appliances, and I get all teary-eyed just thinking about my Quisinart food processor I bought 20+ years ago and she still grinds the $#^! out of anything I give her.

I remember my first stripper job......

Oh Yea,

outdoor cooking.....

maybe.............................................

I was out back working in my back yard.

Removing a bunch of dead grass to make room for a tomato garden.

Sat down to take a break on my back porch and uncovered my CI Lodge hibachi.

Oh man I would love to have some fun with that thang'!

The smell of Spam sizzling on there would drive my neighbor crazy.

She's ahem..a vegetarian.

Get a pellet smoker and make spam pellets.

Set it on lifetime-auto-feed, keep that aroma goin for life.

Smoke her out!
