On my way to grab lunch I grabbed the mail and there was a SFRB from PrimeTime. Inside there were three bottles of sauce and a packet with about a million gochu cheong wu shin jo seeds. Perfect timing! Just getting lunch and now I have a bunch of new sauces to try on it. Woot!
The three sauces were:
Bad Apple: An apple based bhut jolokia sauce. Easily the hottest of the three, but sane enough for mortal men. Sweet, but not too sweet and the apple flavor is very subtle to my pallet. You can definitely taste bhuts, though.
Sunburn: A pineapple based 7 pot brown sauce. Very sweet with a mild kick. My nieces really liked this one!
Unlabeled, mystery sauce: My favorite of the three! Not sure what all is in it, but it has a strong ginger flavor and definitely reminds me of southeast Asia. Not too hot, so the rest of the family can enjoy it as well... If I don't eat it all first! I would have destroyed the whole bottle during lunch if I didn't love my family so much to share. Do you have a name for this bad boy yet?
As soon as I finished lunch I got a handful of those gochu cheong wu shin jo seeds in the dirt so I can hopefully have some this fall. These are a type of Korean annuum, correct? I've always loved Korean/Thai type chiles from that area!
Members, definitely give PrimeTime's sauces a try!
Very well done, Alan! I greatly appreciate your generosity and as soon as I can get some bottles I have a few new sauces for you to try as well!
