On Thanksgiving I wolfed down my first Tomatoberry Tomato grown by me in my new Florida location. As usual it tasted awesome. More are forming.

That is one great looking mater [emoji106][emoji16]. Better looking than anything in the stores.

I have grown these every year for about 6 years now. I like these better than any other I have grown, nice and meaty with excellent flavor. They are really good in a nice fresh salsa. They are also like never die tough as nails, I had these left when I ran out of potting soil so for at least six weeks they have been sitting in this wagon in 4 inch pots only getting occasional rain water—no care at all from me. They are not growing, but sure are not dying. I think I will pot them up in the new stuff and see if they take off.

PtMD989–pm me your addy if you want to try a few seeds.

Tomatoberry gone wild! Now flowering like crazy, I will have to add taller support, topling over the 5 1/2 foot tall cages. The ones that have not flopped over are probably 8 to 9 feet tall now.

Pretty-In-Pink Tomato, they look a little bigger than last year but they are a hybrid so we shall see.

I think the Florida weather is making it too easy for you.
Well, when I lived in Minnesnowta, many people would say how hard it was to grow in the cold climate......I never had that problem. Then as I read posts on the forum for a year prior to moving to Florida, people here were saying how hard it was to grow here because of the weather.....Have not seen that yet. I make it a point to usually ignore other peoples opinions on many things. I especially ignore others plant growing advice. I do pay attention to what others are doing and I usually always have a couple of extra plants to experiment on. That is how I learn. I just grow shit, it does not really matter where I am, my techniques will evolve and adapt.

The plants need what they need and you know that. Climate definitely plays a roll in that no matter where u are, but Florida definitely seems like the winner in the climate area (of course you get more bugs and reptiles and stuff)

They just started picking oranges around us so shortly we will be bombarded with all kinds of STUFF!

I hope someone in MI is ready to grow some big tomato plants in 2020. I added 3 ft to my 5 1/2 ft cages and they are now going above that!

Gottem today[emoji16]. Do you have to stake down your planters so the wind don’t knock’em over?
I have been known to punch in a t-post along side of a few in the past. The smaller containers(43 liter) can be tippy, The 18 gallon ones are pretty stable(these are what I like to use)and the times i used the 25 gallon ones they were pretty darn stable.

In reference to the 18 gallon containers mentioned in post #137 and as seen in many of my photos I will let everyone know where I get them(they are really inexpensive), if you are near a Menards store. I just scanned the bar code in the pic with my phone and the Menards app and see right now they are $6.09 each with the 11% discount. I started painting mine silver last year to keep them from breaking down from U.V.. Not positive now but at one time Target had something similar.
