Google is your friend! Actually, there are a number of varieties of pickle shots, so it really is best to look this up. All involve akeemahol, of course, and some involve pickle brine while others involve a slice of pickle with gatorade. Substitutes include pickled jalapenos, etc.
 
Do you have a pickle in the shot? Dill or what?

Someone told me that pickle juice prevents or cures hangovers.

Please be very careful when looking up 'pickle shots'. You might end up with a completely different set of unexpected search results. And depending on what you click on from there... Feds, Chris Hansen, etc.
